What a sad, pathetic child you are. I started this thread to ask peoples opinions about a film with a topic that clearly wants to explore cross age relationships but doesn't seeks honest answers to the questions they raise. But you make it all personal by not only making assumptions about me, but about my motives. With all your vitriol and name calling it's clear you have severe potty training, bed wetting and impotence issues and I can only assume, as you do, that your relation with your daughter is more than twisted to say the least.
A more detailed response would be lost to a mouth breathing numbskull like you, so I'll make it brief:
    Bite Me.
BTW I'm in my 30's, so I do know what people our age think about sleeping with old, depends wearing geezers of your age with a "quick to judge and insult" attitude.we think about vomiting.

Your constant use of the word "dude", your internet stalking of my profile and your rambling diatribes pretty much explains why you regularly bugger your daughter. (Is she real or are you imagining your hand is your offspring again?).
My favorite is your cackling at your own jokes (you actually wrote out ha ha ha). "Dude", how sad, your lips are probably moving as you read this, you poor thing stuck there in the mental ward using the administrator's computer.
Get back on your meds and off the apple jack, drunken old coot.
BTW my mom's dead, how did her corpse feel when you screwed her? More likely you're down in the basement, with your pants down, thinking about that daughter of yours dressed in her waitress outfit.

End of the day, if you were 70+, don't act like you would pass up the opportunity to get into a horny 18 year old girl's guts. P H U C King hypocrites, just wait until you are old, you will still have the sexual desires. If you can get some fit young thing to have sex with you then why the P H U C K not!?

Well I didn't read all the replies here but here is my two cents. We are all only human. If people really looked the way Blake did in this movie at "107 years old", I'm sure plenty of guys would want to sleep with her. I'm sure the same for a male older than a female. And in reality, there are people happily married who have enormous differences in age. Age is just a number. I agree there is a point where age difference becomes "gross" and inappropriate.
I've been put in a position where I could have dated a girl much older than me, about 7 or 8 years older. The problem is in reality, normal aging creates a barrier with people. When women hit their 30's, some have the "biological clock" ticking and it puts pressure on me to date older. That among other things, they want to grow up, buy a house, and start settling down because father time is catching up with them.
That doesn't happen to fictional characters in movies. They live forever. They don't have to worry about biological clocks. They don't have to worry about settling down ever because they don't age anymore. They are not at the mercy of father time. And they still have young bodies. It's not really "gross" for them to have sex, especially with people who are physically the same age.
Lastly people old still look at people young. Older guys even in their 50's still like girls in their 20's. Same for women, they can look at younger guys. That is life. There is nothing wrong with it.

yeah, if she's 107, wouldn't she be interested in older men more? why a guy her physical age, it's not like she's not aging on the inside and want men that are more mature and "on her level".

That's an interesting point, actually. However, i have to disagree: She's also not aging on the inside. Otherwise she'd be running around with 100-year-old organs. Likewise, her hormones are still on the level of a 29-year-old. So i can definitely understand a physical attraction to Ellis. But i do know what you mean, her "mental age" does get older, what with all the life experiences she collected over the years. (I imagine there actually has to be some sort of inner conflict between what she wants and what her body wants.) Regardless, the attraction to Ellis still makes sense: He's an old soul, he's quite mature for a man of his age. They click on both the mental and the physical.

I'm not really sure why so many people here have hang-ups about sex. As long as they are all consenting adults, why does it matter? Try being a little less superficial and maybe realize that love and sex are more than just skin deep.

Interesting topic. I think the answer is simple though: it doesn't matter, and it's not weird. Sex relies heavily on physical attraction, so as long as you're physically attracted to the person (which usually means you are somewhat similar in age) then it works. I think that's basically it.
Another way to look at it might be if you assumed that the "age difference is weird" thing is just a social construct that doesn't hold much logical value. So when you remove "creepy old guy" and replace him with "epic hundred year old immortal vampire" nobody has developed any preconceptions regarding those types of relationships (obviously) so they don't automatically see it as weird. They only see it as weird when they start to think about it more in depth and then (incorrectly) apply their existing preconceptions (the ones designed to apply to mortal-mortal relationships) to it, leading them to conclude that "oh yeah, I guess you're right, it is weird." Of course, applying illogical preconceptions to things is counterproductive and should be avoided anyway.
The other main distinction might be some type of "world experience" as someone else noted, in that older people (even if they are immortal) won't really be able to relate to or connect with younger people due to such a vast difference in life experience. However in the mainstream stories, the immortal generally behaves similarly to how a mortal of the same age that the immortal looks would behave, so that point becomes moot.
                    What do you think?

its not gross in the slightest. if bodies are both of the same age then it doesnt matter how old mind is
