I finally got around to seeing this when I realized Tarsem Singh had directed it, and I beeping LOVED it! I really don't know what all of the criticism is about, I just can't stop smiling. I feel like a little kid right now. I'm tired of the gritty fantasy and fairytales, I want more of this!
I just felt that I needed to share my feelings. If anyone wants to talk about the movie in any way, by all means post below.
Also, major props to the late Eiko Ishioka for the costume design.

I saw it in the theater and liked it. I recently saw it on TV and still like it. It's not supposed to be a great masterpiece just good fun.

I had no desire to see it when it was first released but boy, did I miss out. I imagine it was stunning on the big screen!! I finally got around to watching it all the way through (after a couple of starts and stops last week) on the Disney Channel, of all things! I'm not a Julia Roberts fan but even I enjoyed her in this role. The only actor/character I couldn't stand was Armie Hammer as Prince Alcott dull as dishwater, not that bright, not that good-looking, not that brave, and did I mention he was dull?!
I loved the "dwarves" and I was mesmerized by their stilts! It was also great that they weren't called by the familiar names of Sleepy, Dopey, etc.
The costumes, especially the ones worn by Julia Roberts, were jaw-droppingly beautiful. I've never seen anything like them.
The special effects were also incredible. The 7 on their stilts and the very opening of the movie when Julia Roberts was telling the story (that was really about her
); those puppets or however they did that was hypnotic.
I dearly love the movie "Ever After" and I intend to buy the DVD of "Mirror Mirror" because they would be great to watch back-to-back, plus I want to watch "MM" without those annoying commercials for the upcoming Disney shows. I gave this movie an IMDB rating of 8 but it would have gotten a 10 if anyone but Armie Hammer had played the Prince (sorry to offend anyone who's a fan of his but I didn't like him at all and was actually hoping that Snow would end up with Grub, Grimm, Butcher you get the drift). But other than that, it was a delightful movie and I can't wait to see it again.

You were hoping she'd end up with all seven of them ?
I see what you mean about armie- he's not your typical prince in many ways. There are loads of actors more stereotypically good/looking I guess- but I thought he worked well in the part. He looks good without a shirt! He was quite charming and he suited the humour I thought.
(It was totally unrealistic that he listened to the queen and not snow, but he had to for the plot to work!)

                Yeah, I like this film.
It's pretty good, but you'd have to HAVE TO be a fairy tale fan. If your not, then tou might be bored with it.
