Subj. I was trying to follow wtf they all were doing: magicians, FBI, others and everything just made no sense. And all this mess for what? To set up and put in prison a man whose only crime was unveiling magic secrets on tape? This should make me see "Eye" as a good guy?

Perhaps Shrike could've gotten another job? If one career doesn't work out, find another. He chose to do stupid, dangerous stunts and unfortunately he paid for it. Morgan Freeman's character didn't do anything wrong. He was just doing his own job.

exposing his tricks isn't the same as murdering him. There's no real reason to avenge him.
Shrike could change his act, improve his technique, or move on to another career.
And it's not like audiences really go to see magicians because they think the magician is actually empowered with magical abilities. Everyone with money knows its just a show. It's so silly to think that people just refused to go to magic shows because Morgan Freeman revealed the method. Freeman didn't ruin anyone's career. -

You're kidding yourself. In America, over 70% of the populace believe in a god of some sort. The same amount believe in some sort of supernatural force or phenomenon.
Many Americans, especially those attending shows, believe in magic. Just ask them on the street before the event.
Winter is coming.
