Joe and Cody.
Joe had his faults and was very unlikeable but Cody was so bad that at times I felt sorry for Joe.
His smug, condescending attitude was what really bothered me.
I couldn't stand Cody - his Swiss Miss look for a guy, attitude, and much worse with Joe. SO glad he's gone!
I have to agree. He was tolerable for me when he was with Dave. He still had moments where he was awful and condescending but his beep didn't really begin to shine until he was paired with Joe. -

I think Dave handled Cody the best. Don't know if that would have continued after a couple more seasons or not. Cody might have become insufferable no matter who he was paired with.

Grady and Bill
I couldn't get past the first two episodes. They lacked any chemistry together, and I hard a very hard time taking Bill seriously especially when he broke down crying after making a fire.
I liked Cody at first, but he was very smug and condescending to both Dave and Joe. Cody has a great knowledge base, but he was very rude to Dave (at the end of season 2) and downright nasty to Joe in the middle of season 4 (I'm talking about the Vietnam episode).
Joe gets a bad rap for being aggressive, but look what the man has been through. You live out in a desert for a few years fighting terrorists and tell me you won't have a few screws loose. Joe was uppity, but I can understand why.
