For a start I'm a 30 year old woman so I'm probably not the target demographic but I loved the invetweeners series because it was a complete reflection of boys back when I was at school. From what I can gather the critics also thought it was good because it was a realistic version of teenage boys being at school, in contrast to say, too cool for school skins.
However this went against that whole theme: all the boys ended up with beautiful women. Totally unrealistic. This just would not have happened in real life. It felt like I was watching a teenage boy's fantasy at times. A total betrayal of the series ethos.
Plus it was completely unfunny. A big disappointment. Felt like a last-ditch money spinner at the end of the series. -

The only one who got with an unrealistic girl was Will.
Neils girlfriend really wasnt that attractive. (In my opinion.) If I saw them twowalking down the street together, I wouldnt think it was out of the ordinary.
Jays girlfriend was a big girl. I know this is stereotyping here, but fuller figured girls, from my experience, seem to be less bothered by looks. If i saw them two walking down the street together, I wouldnt think it was out of the ordinary.
Simon, while a bit awkward and clearly as no idea how to talk to girls, is still a good looking guy. I am a man and I can admit that. Lucy came across as just a sweet girl who probably wouldnt go for a bad boy. I could totally see him with a girl like her. If I saw them two walking down the street together, I wouldnt think it was out of the ordinary.
The only one which was just a bit unrealistic was Will. I doubt a girl like that would go for him in real life. -

Simon and Will got lucky.
The OP is also absolutely ridiculous, if you liked the series that much you couldn't possibly find the film entirely devoid of humour and your reasoning is as saggy as your ancient chest. -

Easy - because 'conventionally attractive' really just means stereotypically attractive, ie what the general masses generally finds attractive.
How one finds looks is very subjective - there are objective layers to it, but there are a vast array of subjective features to looks
If Will found her attractive - then I agree, Will got very lucky indeed!
And apart from your your rather stupid and inane insult directed at the OP (which reveals your approximate age [physical and/or mental]), I agree with you. If you like the series, I personally think that the movie was more of the same - it was great! -

I wouldn't say it was a particularly strong insult just a dig at the immense stupidity of her reasoning. You can't go from one extreme to another for two similar things.

now this is the best reply yet, although i didn't find will girl to be that hot, i just agree a girl like that 9/10 times wouldn't go for someone like will.
but to the contrary of the O.P, there out clubbing at a party place, mixed emotions, the smell of sexual urges lingering in the air, i think it would of worked, it seem some what realistic to me, besides will, but he could be that 1/10 exception, the rest matched up perfectly. -

Ive never seen the series but I was okay with them ending up with the girls. they did a decent job with the main guy getting the girl because he had to work for it.

I think the only unrealistic girl was Will's. She was way out of his league and she went from being in love with a Greek guy to getting with Will straight away. I think once she got home he would be dropped like a hot potatoe!

Well Will was a bit of a wussy, but he was actually funny and had some form of personality. The other guys were just acting really retarded and had no idea what to do.
Actually I wouldn't think Will got lucky, his girl was hot, but how many guys are able to be that funny with hot girls? I think it's totally possible and you can see couples like that in real life. -

Having just watched the series and first movie on Netflix, I don't really understand why people keep saying this, considering he almost had a thing with Charlotte (who IMHO was way better looking and way more out of his league that girl) a few times. Now whether or not their relationship will last is questionable, they only knew each other very briefly before hooking up and things might not last very long after getting to know each other.
Because sponges never have bad days. -

It is just a film, but I believe that the strongly rom-com storyline betrayed the sensibilities of the show.
Kind of a lame/anemic attempt to go out with a bang.
Having said that, I dance like Neil or Will whenever I hear "We No Speak Americano."
It was not devoid of humour -just a sad excuse for a film that should have been true to the TV show. -

c'mon now, I'm your age "the actors ages really" and I thought it wasn't too bad, I was in crete in my naval days when I was about 20 and that's kinda what I remember from it, alcohol, darkness, and women
