What's the point of humans when androids can do it all themselves?

They can run the ships, they can do the mining, they are smarter and stronger than humans. Do they have some inherent limitation that prevents this that isn't mentioned in the movie?

In Alien Resurrection, Call (Winona Ryder) was an android made by androids. That movie took place like 2000 years after Alien3, so synthetics had evolved enough at that point to become their own separate race.
