That's exactly it Bobby
You know it's not something that you Nan would approve of for an everyday thing. But she would say that you should enjoy it and make the most of it because you'll not be getting anything like that again for a while and you'll be on the salads again tomorrow

Missed opportunity the filmmakers didn’t add egg-morphing

Egg morphing only existed in the cutting room floor of the original movie Anthony
Ridley Scott is very particular about what he puts out as being the Director's Cut every time and so it doesn't exist outside of fan knowledge

egg-morphing is officially canon since it’s in the 2003 re-release

If you can
find this you'll see that in 2006 Ridley says
that he regrets any changes to the theatrical releases and that they are solely for money making purposes for the studios.
What he signs off on, Blade Runner and Alien, are always the work he is happy with at that time and any critic or fan who wants to come back and tell him that later edited work is better can **** off, as they weren't there on the day.
Obviously the BBC has updated its website since then but there'll be archives somewhere. I just use my memory as that's all I've ever needed
He dismisses any "Director's Cuts" as not the work he was happy to sign off on and that they are not what he produced.
I've got mad respect for that, even if I don't like every single thing he's ever done

Yes, Scott always said the theatrical release was his preferred “director’s cut” and the 2003 DC is just a fun alternative.
That said, I’m still disappointed that Scott never took the rerelease seriously, it was a great opportunity to implement the deleted scenes as they were originally shot and he managed to screw that up.
E.g. the cocoon scene is severely truncated from the original edit and its runtime is cut in half, thereby lessening the tension and horror. Then the transmission scene used a bad audio sound effect instead of the creepier and more monstrous original one. He even had the audacity to remove the “what are my chances” scene. About the only addition he didn’t **** up was the “we can walk on it” scene.
Frankly, the more I read about Scott the more I think he got extremely lucky with Alien and makes poor decisions with the rest of his output

It sounds like you are interested in the franchise as much as I am Anthony.
I'm sure we'd butt heads over the odd aspect of it but yes, Ridley can be his own worst enemy at times and he could make it easier for himself from where I stand.
But I know he'd tell me that I stand nowhere near him and I'd have to reply that I have not visited his neighbour P Diddy's house and so he's correct on that matter

Once a man is knighted by the Queen, the best us proles can protest with is writing him angry fan mail or picketing outside his mansion.
Here he is with his fellow aristocrats judging you and I
