Depend on how you look at it Bobby.
3 subverts the expectations of Aliens and some took that hard.
Resurrection goes on a French comic book loop (Which I like!).
After that it gets a bit shoddy until Prometheus which takes a steep nosedive into comedy and Covenant doesn't even have that going for it
But I like the first 4 and I hope this new one can hand around with them in the Alien party kitchen

I seem to recall having a fondness for 3, though it was the Assembly Cut I watched. I’ll be watching the version that Disney Plus has, not sure what that is.
I barely recall Resurrection other than it being tonally all over and Ripley behaving strange.
Prometheus, well…it will be interesting revisiting that one again but yes I do recall it being very funny.
I’m going to watch all the Predator films too. Ironically though I will not be watching either of the AvP movies as these just look unwatchable.

See for yourself Bobby and let me know if you align with me on how you'd recommend things.
It is just entertainment and so some people like them all and others, like me, take them a tiny bit more seriously and notice little errors and silly edits

Apparently this movie is set between Alien and Aliens and so we might get the recent history prior to Alien after Prometheus and Covenant as well as foreshadowing of things we know will happen.
Arcturian Poontang and Aspen beer might make appearances (Cornbread and a Drinking bird too), maybe an unfinished doughnut or a basketball hoop (And unicycle!).
How we're going to name an android between A and B without going for Walter being an E on its side and do Francis or Freddie being the next synthetic is beyond me but it can't be worse than a Lindelof idea and so the only way is up!
And that's just us keeping within the Brandywine Productions intellectual property umbrella.
We could get Predators, ETs, Demons, Reavers, Qs, Goa'uld, Gnut or a Steersman or two
But I'm pretty sure this will just be a by-the-numbers, in the pipe, five-by-five bug hunt story

I'm hoping for more of this. We know what happened in Alien and Aliens. I know events of Alien will be mentioned. I wanna know what I don't know. Engineers, David, etc. -

I think the smart money would be to give any events no more than a throwaway line with an uncertain vagueness about what actually transpired Kuato.
Something like a message was picked up about an archelogy team and a malfunctioning robot or ship…maybe something to do with alien life. Another account of missing or 'ghost' ships like the Sea Bird or Mary Celeste in space. Just enough to give some credence to what we know but also enough for it to have been accidents and gossip turned supernatural in their retelling.
Distance from Prometheus and Covenant is what the franchise needs at this point (In my opinion) but if it goes in for it properly, it had better be some good ****
Ditch the engineers altogether and leave that for another 30 years when we can CGI Fassbender back into the right age and have a finale with a planet of xenomorphs made from the Covenant crew in slumber (If need be at all!
)
