S1 was genuinely pretty damn good, certainly the earlier episodes had some genuine scares. Sort of continually got worse after that, though I persisted with it until at some point during s6 iirc.
Quite a fun show tho, solid cast.
The AHS board was the first board I properly posted on on IMDb. It was like shooting fish in a barrel with all the trolling that went on.

The first episode has a married guy heading to a gloryhole within the first few minutes of the episode.
Almost all the main characters are gay. The characters go to gay bars, gay parties, etc.
As Anna mentioned, there's a serial killer (or more than one) targeting gay men. Also, there's a smaller storyline that seems to be about the early days of AIDS.
There are some nice (male) shirtless scenes, though, which everyone can enjoy.
