It must be the Stories one I heard about last week then and hadn't even heard of Double Feature.
I can't get 1984 on blu ray yet, not available, and I only stream from Netflix.

There were two stories last season. The first one was called "Red Tide" and the second one was "Death Valley."
I wonder when the new season will air. As of an August 18 article, there was still no airdate announced, but here's some info:
FX Chairman John Landgraf told The Wrap in February that the 11th installment of the Emmy-winning series will not be another “double feature” like Season 10, which was split into two parts titled “Red Tide” and “Death Valley.” “What I can tell you is that the concept for Season 11 is one story,” he confirmed. “It actually takes place in different timelines but it’s one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle and an end, like many of the prior stories.” Landgraf remained tight-lipped about the theme of the upcoming cycle, only saying, “I actually really like this idea too, I think it’s really cool.” If history is any indication, Ryan Murphy will be the one to break the news of the fresh plot, at a time and place of his own choosing. -

Those seasons were ok. I think I liked some things about the seasons, but there were also some things I didn't like. 1984 was better than Double Feature.
I just looked at a thread I started here last year about Double Feature, and I wrote this about the first part (Red Tide):
"The first part only had six episodes, but it still wasn't done very well. It had some interesting characters, but it was pretty repetitive and the finale was bad." -

It’s been so long since I’ve watched them so it’s hard to remember but similar to what NZer said, Murder House does stand out because it was a cool new concept and kind of creepy. Asylum was pretty cool too.

My order originally to watch was season 1,3,2 and then the rest in chronological order.
I really did like
Asylum
very much, but it just threw so much into the mix, it was also over-whelming. I thought Lange was best in season 3
Coven
, yet apparently her personal favorite is
Freak Show
. Kathy Bates had to play one of the most despicable, sick, depraved and horrendous psychos ever committed to film in
Coven
.

— 3 years ago(September 09, 2022 04:19 PM)The first one I watched was Freak Show, I didn't really know what to expect but soon became a huge fan. The Elsa Mars story was horrific, Dandy and Gloria Mott were deliciously unhinged. I think I caught up with the Seasons in order after that, Murder House took me a while to get into but once I did I thoroughly enjoyed it but Asylum is my favourite.
Like you I have enjoyed all of the Seasons up to Roanoke which, as previously discussed, was terrible. In my opinion it was definitely the worst.
