I mean it could. The ship could have been an American naval ship that got turned into a cruise ship.

Hhhmm . . . I liked the idea of a cruise ship or pirates, but now that you mention this it could be about one of those boats that go up and down the Mississippi. It could give some good storylines since those types of boats were used a lot in the slave trade.
