S06 - absolute boring low budget trash that went full retard

I'm starting to lose interest in American Horror Story and I think I know why. It's hard to feel fear or dread on behalf of a character when no one is really likable. The Roanoke season of American horror story left me feeling cold and detached. I didn't care who lived and died.
The gore and cannibalism was boring and excessive to the point where it did not faze me at al. It was gross but it was not scary. And considering all the evidence against the Polks, including a threat of violence made on Youtube, it was pure idiocy that they got away with so much for so long.
I know they supposedly bribed the local authorities but that only accounts for the pot growing. Not the repeated murders and cannibalism. Even the Mafia isn't able to pay off the authorities that well. It was ridiculous. And it made such little sense.
Not to mention torture porn, found footage and (embarrassing to real paranormal researchers) "Reality Ghost Hunter shows" never interested me.
To me Roanoke was the worst season of American Horror Story, perhaps tied with Asylum. My favorite seasons being Murder House and Coven (Though I hate what happened to poor Misty Day).
But the problem is this has been happening with American Horror Story since roughly around Freak Show (though there were parts of Freak Show I loved like Mordrake). It becomes so excessive in the death and violence that it actually becomes boring and there's no one to really care about or want to live so the reason to feel "horror" or relief on behalf of a character isn't there. -

Indeed. Plus it was too disjointed - went from faux documentary to "season 2" to cannibals/hillbillies to selfies/drones to a convention to the same boring old haunted house. Probably missed something. Eh.

Sigh,
Yes this season was just bizzare.
It's just so difficult to live in the year 2017 not be an inbred hillbillies and have a show take place in the year 2017 and treat us like inbred hillbillies.
Even the Mafia isn't able to pay off the authorities that well. It was ridiculous.

Right. "Hey local authority, every blood moon, we are going to slowly kill people because we like their meat to be tender and need their teeth to make necklaces. Thanks."
Everyone knows that something bad is happening in that area, they decide one year later to return to that area and stuff goes bad, then some time later 3 kids (ghost hunter') decide to go back to an area where we know $hit goes bad, and each time the cops show up after the fact confused.
Then it ends with some Brat Killing her mother.
And Yes. I believe Mr. Murphy over-estimates how cool we think people being disemboweled is.

I agree. There was potential, but in my opinion, it just fell flat. As I've stated before, it was all over the place, and I was expecting this great ending to tie it neatly all up. Definitely my least favorite AHS season.

The season had a lot of potential, but the writing was so lazy it ruined it. The first half was not scary as we knew who would survive.
The second half was so unrealistic they might as well have had elves and flying dragons. Fewer cameras and more realistic characters would have helped. Fewer characters might have helped too
The ending was pathetic.

Actually certain elf lore is pretty damn scary. Look up Red Caps. They soak their hats in the blood of their victims. A Red cap would have been creepier than this. Or authentic man-eating goblins, or child stealing dark faeries taking babies to make them into other faeries Elves actually CAN be scarier than what we saw. -

I agree. American Horror Stories writing has been spiraling out of control since its beginning. but the things it always had were
interesting characters
beautiful art to its scenes
spooks
this season had virtually none of that.
