The dialogue is cringeworthy. The acting is hammier than ever. The decisions characters make is so contrived.

I'm sorry but it has been awful all season. The reenactment portion of the first half of the show I can let go, as those Paranormal Witness/My Haunted House shows have cheesy acting and dialogue.
Then when we get to the Found Footage "real" part of the season the writing is even cheesier and bland. Probably the worst season of the show. -

agreed.
this season lacks the only two things its awful seasons had. Style and Character.
The characters suck this year and are more or less pointless. and of course the complete lack of style is just saddening.

This season is a mess. Way too many ideas that don't work well when mashed together. The writing is lazy and they rather have things be convenient to the story, rather than make any sense or have any realism at all. And the acting and accents this season have been cringworthy. It made absolutely no sense that Matt and Shelby would go back to the house. I thought maybe there would be a twist and we find out they made a deal with the butcher. They would never have gone back.

This literally happens every season. Around the halfway mark it starts to go downhill. Although this one didnt go bad until after the episode where they all go back to the house. That was a great episode. The writing is always terrible.

I agree. This has been my least favorite season. It's certainly scary at times, and often gory, but it feels all over the place like the writers either changed direction or didn't have a solid plan from the beginning.
