It's not Trump that people fear. It's his influence. It's not doubt that a lot of people take his words very seriously, too seriously. Many of his supporters hate anything that isn't white, male, or Christian. Whether Trump means it or not, his followers will act upon what he says, just like those poll watchers who shouted racist slurs at voters.

So Trump created all of these bigots and ignorant people? No. These people have always existed and social media has given them the outlet that they don't deserve.
I guess they feel more comfortable speaking their hate due to the figurehead of the country sharing a similar opinion. -

..real life is more important then fiction.
We are storytelling, image-making creatures. It isn't "real life" in the human sense without fiction.
There's also no contradiction between enjoying a TV show, movie, novel, etc. and taking care of practical matters. -

Normally I remember. Westworld Monday night and AHS Thursday night (for me). I was just a stunned mullet after that election result, so I was happy Gabe started this thread. Gave me something to look forward to.

No, I'm still looking forward to the episode tonight. I'm not a white male, but I know the next 4 years aren't going to be that terrible. I've heard far worse things than some guy talking about grabbing kitty
Not today Satan, not today -

I didn't forgetand I'm looking forward to it.
As for the electionI've stayed away from those threads discussing it. But I will say, that we all knew one of them was going to win. And we all knew that approximately half the country was going to be disappointed by the outcome. I figured it would be a close race, and it was anyone's guess who was going to come out the victor. Now all we can do is move forward like we always do as a nation and support the president and support each other. And enjoy our TV showshaha. -

No, after hearing the result which shocked me & has put me in a severe state of depression. (yeah, yeah call me a p****y or whatever makes you feel good about yourself; afterall this country's elected a cruel human being; I guess I better get used to more people being influenced to be that way..no election has Ever put me in this state. And I won't be replying to Any post mocking me or anything; I wanted to get my feelings out once here, everyone else is, but that's it)
Point is, of couse real life is more important, but I didn't forget because art & love are the most important things to me in life, and I enjoy this show.
So yeah, it'll get my mind, at least for about an hour on fun art, and off reality. I think a proper Balance of reality and escape is important; at least to me. And the horror genre is a good escape from real life horror: I feel that's why people who are Very into horror films/series/ect, Are into it so much; it makes the horrors of reality feel/seem less horrific. All of this is Just my Opinion(s) though.
