The one survivor

In principle you're right about both. I could see her taking her own life out of guilt over Matt's death. And Dominick was trying to stir up trouble. So far he seems to be landing on his feet - he's the only one who hasn't been attacked. I hope it doesn't mean he'll be the last one standing.

I'm starting to get a nasty feeling Dominick will be the oneif indeed ANYONE survives. I still think that disclaimer was worded in a very tricky way. It said everyone died under mysterious circumstancesexcept for one. That doesn't mean anyone actually survives. Maybe one person's death is actually not mysterious. And it could be Matt's, because Shelby actually killed him and it was captured by the camerasthat's not really so mysterious.

Hah, you're right, hadn't thought of that. Of the deaths so far - Sydney and four crew members, Agnes, Rory, and Matt - all were killed by ghosts except Matt. But if that theory holds up, it would mean no one is killed by the Polks., who are live people being recorded. Based on RM's interview, Finn Whitlock is supposed to play a deeply twisted character, so I figured some of the deaths were going to come at his hands.

Sydney and some of the crew members weren't killed by ghosts, they were killed by Agnes. So their deaths aren't really a mystery either, cameras documented it and Agnes confessed to killing them when she was filming herself in the bunker

Then your guess is as good as mine. Maybe it was a mystery to whoever saw the found footage? Maybe they didn't realize it was Agnes. But they put that disclaimer there and worded it the way they did for a reason.

sjzaz,
Do you have an opinion as to why Dominic has been so calm? When discovering Rory's blood, Dominic was calm.
Dominic is calmly sleeping on the downstairs sofa. After everything wouldn't Matt, Shelby, and Dominic stay in the room? Past history and hurt feelings seem to trump a chance at safety when in the midst of a bloodbath.
Matt and Shelby are sleeping together in the room they shared as man and wife in 2014. A time according to Matt when The Millers was already over - Matt says that their marriage was over as soon as they moved into their Sappony property.
Matt wakes up in a trance. Matt goes downstairs which gets Dominic's attention. Following hypnotized Matt down into the basement Dominic sees The Witch.
Dominic does not appear to lose his calm demeanor. It would seem more likely that seeing The Witch would cause Dominic noticeable fead, distress, and panic.
Matt wakes up Shelby. Perhaps Dominic felt as though Matt needed assistance - Matt was in immediate danger and needed help / saving from The Witch. Dominic feels Shelby is the best to rescue Matt.
Dominic remains calm going back down into the basement with Shelby.
How is it that Dominic does not appear to be rattled by seeing The Witch? Has The Witch bewitched Dominic? Is Dominic the object of The Witch's affection now and not Matt?
What were The Witch and Matt doing when Shelby saw them together in the basement?
Thank you sjzaz, or anyone that responds for taking the time to answer so many questions. -

Hey, WinkerAugusta, I actually do have a theory about Dominic.
Up until now, I don't think he believed ANY of this was real. I'm going by what he said in his "confessional" about being hired to be the "bad guy" and how the bad guy is always the star. He seemed to really get off on the idea he was there to cause trouble. Remember how at the very beginning of the episode last week, Sidney told whoever was behind the camera to keep filming, no matter what? I think he probably told the same thing to the actorskeep acting and going along with whateverit's all staged. Sidney's motivation seemed two-fold to meratings and to induce Lee into confessing to Mason's murder.
Audrey didn't even seem too upset at first after Rory disappeared. She seemed more angry at Sidney for scaring her than anything else. She seemed to believe Rory left for the job on the Brad Pitt movie. That's also why Dominic wasn't upset about the blood on the floorhe assumed it was fake and he was playing along, even though he pretended to believe it was real.
Even when Agnes attacked Shelby, I don't think Dominic thought it was anything more than a crazy woman who snapped and showed up with a cleaver and an axe to grind (no pun intendedhaha) I think he was genuinely scared to go out and get helpbut not scared of ghosts, scared of Agnes!
I'm sure when he went and fetched Shelby to go down to the basement to witness Matt having sex with the witch (or whatever they were doing) he thought he was acting on Sidney's orders. Remember, at this point the people remaining in the houseMatt, Shelby, and Dominichave no clue what's going on outside with the rest of them, or that Sidney and the crew are dead. At this point, I think Dominic thought he was still acting a part.
He might be catching on now, though. Even when he was comforting Shelby after she killed Matt, I think he was probably thinking "Oh crap, now she's done gone killed the dude, what do I do now?" But when the actual ghosts show up and he sees the REAL Butcher whack Agnes in the head with her cleaver, maybe he'll be a believer!
I think we will see a major change in Dominic's demeanor in the next episode. Shizz is getting REAL nowhaha -

Not necessarily. I was just thinking about Charles Manson. No doubt, everyone in the Manson Family was completely crackers, but Charles was definitely the most twisted. He's the one who was able to get into all of their heads and get them to commit all of those murders all for him yet he didn't technically commit any of the murders. He just made sure that they happened. Finn's character could be equally twisted and arrange the deaths of everyone, including his own family, without ever actually stabbing or shooting anyone. Just a thought.

Then after, he was trying to convince her to turn herself in to the police! WTH? from sjzaz post
Did anyone notice that when Dominic tells Shelby that she has to turn herself in Shelby says, "What??? No. No. No, Dom, you have to help me."
It seems easy to invision Matt and Shelby having a similar conversation in 2014 after Mason's death. Now in present time Shelby seems shocked out of her tearful "he's dead" when Shelby hears Dom tell her to turn herself in by saying "what? No."
It is easy to imagine that in 2014 Matt and Shelby were having a similar talk - however, when Shelby asked "what am I going to do" Matt replied by saying something such as "we will cover it up. Make Lee look guilty if necessary."
When Dom does not respond in a similar manner, Shelby says "what?"
If you listen to the conversation it almost seems as though Shelby is talking to Matt in 2014 aftef killing Mason:
Shelby: Oh God Oh God Oh God. Matt, Matt, Matt. He's dead he's dead not alive. No, I killed him. I killed him. What am I going to do.
Dominic: wait here for the girls to come back then you're going to turn yourself in
*Shelby overlapping speaking over Dominic words Shelby saying: What?
Dominic saying:Do you understand?
Shelby: No. No you have to help me. I didn't mean. I didn't mean to hurt him.
If Dom is replaced with Matt - this conversation could be one that Matt and Shelby had im 2014.
Shelby was going to say more - She says "I don't want" however Dom cuts her off as Agnes is out front.
I feel horrible for Matt. He has not felt human in 2 years. He returned for The Witch. Then Matt is abandoned by The Witch - she does not stay to protect Matt at all - and brutally murdered by Shelby.
Had Matt been able to stay with The Witch - what would have happened? Would Matt have sacrificed himself to The Witch like Tomastine allegedly did?
Was Matt in the process of sacrificing himself to The Witch / being killed by The Witch when Shelby sees Matt and The Witch?
I wish that Shelby could have seen that Matt clearly was not himself.
Why did Matt wait 2 years to return to Sappony? Or had he? When Matt tells Shelby that he has not felt human in 2 years that for 2 years he has been stuck in those woods had Matt been The Witch's prisoner in the woods for 2 years?
Poor Matt! -

What would Shelby's motive have been to kill Mason? Lee actually had a motive. So did Matt, if he was trying to protect his sister. I can't think Shelby would kill Mason for Lee's sakeshe didn't even seem to like Lee all that much. What other motive could she have? Unless she's just plain crazy, which after last night I think I could start to believe. I'm still in shock over how she killed Matt!

sjzaz,
I don't know what motive Shelby would have.
I don't know if Lee, Shelby, and Matt were totally forthcoming in their interviews.
After seeing Shelby take down The Witch and brutally kill Matt (a person she should have known was bewitched - right)? Or, was Matt never under a spell and freely fell in love with The Witch? Matt then moves into the basement to be with The Witch while living at Sappony. After leaving pining and longing for The Witch.
Perhaps Shelby murdered Mason to frame Lee to get baxk at Matt?
Perhaps Shelby snapped with Mason similar to how she did with Matt.
I really enjoy your thought process and posts! Thank you for making AHS more entertaining!
