She is Amazing! She is seriously the greatest actor this show has ever had. Absolutely Memorizing. Every scene. Every move. Every captivating word she speaks; Utter brilliance. She can actually change my mood. When Kathy was standing in the cellar by candlelight reciting her soliloquy it was breathtaking. She had me completely fixated on her when she would switch in and out of each character, while additionally throwing Gaelic into her musings. The way she was going from caring about what she'd done, to again becoming the butcher and finding it to be deserved was so impressively done that I can't even put it into words. We were literary witnessing her have a mental breakdown right in front of the camera. It was one of the most riveting pieces of acting that I believe I've ever seen. Not only on this show, but in general. And it was simply Kathy Bates talking to a camera by candlelight. So inspiring. Could you just imagine how brilliant she would have been in Asylum?
I am always humbled after watching such a talent as hers. Un-Freakin-believable Performance!
And so I say Brava to the Incomparable Kathy Bates!!!

Yea, only the best could play the same basic character all of her four seasons. First as a co-star, but then Connie Britton left, giving her more screen time to play the Same. Freakin'. Person. The only good she ever did was Sister Jude. Ya know right up until she went into the 70 year old vixon routine again. Not impressed. Glad she's gone. I don't like to be bored when watching a horror show. I want better, and now we have it.

be possible for you to PRAISE one legend without sh!tting on another?
What both Jessica AND Kathy have done over the course of this series are among the greatest accomplishments throughout film/television history. I think it's an incredibly inept (or to utilize your terminology, "
Basic
") critique of Jessica to say that she "played the exact same character all 4 seasons" with complete disregard for the nuances in each performance/character. The ability to be a
chameleon
as an actor and the ability to present one's
SELF
as an actor are two very different "styles," indeed (with their own respective and diverse merits), and as such you cannot competently deem one style "superior" to another. Just something that's always irked me. -

You are being too nice. It is obviously a semi-baiting post.
Nuanced is not a thing a lot of people are into or can discern.
BTW I seriously doubt they saw Jessica in anything but the AHS whichI meanno need to argue further.
