In the re-enactment, back in episode 1, there is a guy with a hat on filming the knockout game with a phone very similar to the phones that Sydney gave everyone. Could this all be related??

Phones in general all pretty much look the same nowadays. What specifically about the phone did you notice that made you make the connection?

I think everyone in this day and age has a cell phone, and most people are only too ready to whip it out and film everything they see. I don't know if we can read too much into that

That was a reenactment. Maybe the producers just have a deal with the company that makes that phone to use it on the show.
