Ive had the theory for a few weeks now that the Documentary show on American Horror Story is happening but our protagonists arent really there so much as they are talking to a medium. Theyre all really dead and have been dead the whole time. The medium from Murder House is probably talking for them. Thats the big twist because thats the only twist American Horror Story knows how to do
It was startling in season one but it doesnt shock me anymore so I really hope Im wrong. The last show to catch me by surprise was when Penny Dreadful had its literary version of the Frankenstein Monster make a grand entrance.
Oh, and Stranger Things turned the really dead thing on its head with the boy being alive and despite being much tamer in regard to sex and violence I think Stranger Things is a lot creepier than American Horror Story right now because it doesnt rely on gore and jump scares. -

Stranger Things was creepier all right but not for the reasons you mentioned and not in a good way. AHS this season is superior in every way.
I do like American horror story but I also acknowledge when something is doing certain things better. Just as I admit Once Upon a Time has a more interesting Dr. Jekyll and Penny Dreadful. It's called having integrity. Also it would seem the critics agree with me about Stranger Things so take your argument up with them. Attacking me for my tastes won't accomplish anything other than both of our annoyances. -

Still paranoid I see. Where in my post do I attack you about your taste and I know the critics and general public love the show. Believe me I'm more that mystifyingly aware. I stared my opinion as you did yours.

What are you doing in this Board?!? Stop infecting it with your classic horror knowledge. Didn't we have enough of your theories already?
Aww, what's wrong? Upset I was right about The Creature in Penny Dreadful not being the personification of evil manliness? -

CountVladDracula,
Does this mean that The Millers were all killed by The Butcher? Do you think that Ambrose never pushed The Butcher into the fire - these events were imagined by Matt, Shelby, and Lee as watching Flora being murdered was too painful? Their minds could not tolerate watching this defenseless child tortured by The Butcher? In the afterlife The Millers believe that they saved Flora and escaped?
There are several parts of the interviews that do not make sense.- What happened to Cricket's body? Was Cricket still dying and this is why we do not see his ghost? Why would Cricket leave his Uber to chase Flora? Cricket is supposed to be psychic & knows the only way to stop The Butcher's madness is to use the spell. Cricket should have known that he simply could not chase down Flora, right?
- The Tunnels: You have a missing child. Prior to your child going missing strange unexplained events are happening. When your child goes missing, step one is to "search every inch of the house."
How did The Millers miss Tge Tunnels? Especially ex police officer Lee. Wouldn't Lee have put her police training to use after the break in? Wouldn't Lee have searched the house for ways intruders could have enterex tge basement, put on tge video, and exit the basement??
When Flora becomes a missing child we see FBI agents. There is also a large search party. FBI agents failed to locate The Tunnels - Tunnels that led directly to The Polk House where Flora's doll enmeshed with mutilated pigs was found along with 2 abused abandoned children able to only utter the sound "Flora."
Federal and local agencies failed to find The Polk Family Grow Crops?
Cricket never heard a peep from Mott about The Tunnels? Even Emily was allegedly talking to Cricket.
It seems as though The Polk Family would have been hunted down and arrested. That The Martin County Sheriff's Department would have a major lawsuit for leaving Lee when a missing child is about to get murdered.
Yet, The Millers story simply ends without explanation of law enforcement and judicial aftermath.

CountVladDracula, Hope you have time to share an expanded version of your theory. It is interesting and thought provoking. Have a pleasant weekend. Hope you are able to get out and enjoy the fall season. Be well, Winker PS Thank you for sharing your creativity on this board.
3. Elias spent Aug 1997- Feb 1998 in the house but did not know about The Polk Family? He knew The Chen Family prayed to their ancestors, he said The Nurses showed him how The Butcher killed them, was friendly with Priscella knowing her favorite place to hang out.
Yet Elias knew nothing about The Tunnels? Nothing about The Polk Family having an agreement with The Butcher?
4. What was Mott doing? Trying to save them or take Shelby, Matt, and Flora to The Polk House?
Why wasn't Mott under The Butcher's control?
Could The Millers be victims of an elaborate hoax? People entering their house via the tunnel in the basement? Elias making videos to add legitimacy to The Butcher? Was Elias at The Polk House acting like a victim - The Polk Family never killed him?
Same with Cricket? Cricket was never killed?
How could The Millers end their story like that? Nothing on the news about brutal murders (Mason, Elias, cricket). An abduction of a little girl (Flora). Abused and severely neglected children found just outside of Raleigh - Durham North Carolina?
It seems as though The Polk Family would have been hunted down and arrested. That The Martin County Sheriff's Department would have a major lawsuit for leaving Lee when a missing child is about to get murdered.
Yet, The Millers story simply ends without explanation of law enforcement and judicial aftermath. -

I would not consider that to be a very big twist in the realm of this show. That would actually strike me as anticlimactic and a big letdown if it was the twist.
Last season's 'main guy is actually the killer'
thing was kind of a letdown because as I went through, I thought "oh wouldn't it be crap if that was the super-overused twist" and there it was.
What difference would it make if they were dead? Like oh, they're dead, someone is talking for them. Would it change the way the story actually is? Not really, since the whole deal is just them telling what happened to them, which is unchanged whether it's told through a medium or not.
If that was the twist I would be incredibly disappointed because it has absolutely no bearing on the story so far. -

I don't think they are really deadat least not yet. The reason is because when the producer asked Lee about her first daughter and she got upset, they showed her interacting with a crew member.
Regardless, I am beginning to believe that they are lying about what actually happened to them at that house. I think the big twist is that the production crew is going to go to the house to investigate further and it's going to get even scarier when they encounter the real paranormal activity there.
