Woman want to stay despite being terrorized by crazy peoples. Husband OK with these.
If you've ever bought a house, this reasoning makes sense. All of their money is tied up in this place. They have nothing for a down payment on another house, or even a security deposit for a rental. While there's weird stuff going on, I don't think Shelby and Matt are truly convinced it's all supernatural. They're still blaming the locals, and are determined not to let them scare them away.
These peoples they are hillbillys from hills they will murder and rape for breakfast.
Now, now. Let's not make generalizations. We've had no proof that those "hillbillys" are bad people. For all we know, they could've wanted to buy the house to rid the land of the evil. Besides, what we're seeing is a dramatic depiction of what the real Matt and Shelby described, not the actual people they confronted.
Husbands niece she come to house despite crazy goings on. Uncle and mother they OK with these. The mother then bring daughter back to house despite her say they all going to die. No mother would do these.
Kids say weird things. Kid's have imaginary playmates. The mother lived there, and it was her weekend with her daughter. Nothing concrete had happened yet. (Not that could be verified, anyway, since there was no physical evidence to back up their claims.) The mother abducted her daughter when she brought her back. She's not in her right mind. Can't expect people who are not thinking straight to make sound decisions.
Two nurses open a home to kill peoples? They just go around killing and nobody notice?
It would be easy for the nurses to kill old people, especially since it was stated that they only took patients whose families just wanted to stick them somewhere until they died. My only complaint is the manner in which they killed the one with the gun. All others appeared to be death by natural causes.
This is the kind of show where rationalizing characters' behavior shouldn't really be necessary for the story to work. Bad decisions have to be made for the plot to progress. These things, however, can be explained, if you really stretch for it.

I'd just like to address the point about hillbillies not being bad people My father is from Pennsylvania hillbilly stock. I met some of his relatives, including a turkey farmer with a dog that lost an eye on a dogfight. His mom had a freezer full of dozens of squirrels that they shot with a BB gun so they'd have enough meat for everyone. Another had a living room without any furniture except for folding metal chairs and about 20 mounted deer heads.
I feel uniquely qualified to say, YES, they would, in fact murder someone for breakfast. I would, too, if it was a Village Inn Garden Skillet. I blame it on my genes. 🙂

There's good and bad in every community.
Not all hill folk are terrible, they just live by a different social structure than other people.
You may be qualified to judge based on your family, but some of us here have experiences quite different than that.
I've got family from a few different hills and hollers, including Alabama, Tennessee, and West Virginia. I have even met some of the most famous ones, including "The Wild and Wonderful" White family. I wouldn't invite them to a black tie event, but I wouldn't say all of them are exactly evil. They just live by a different code.

Oh, I know no one can 100% accurately predict what an entire group of people would do from just a few experiences. I just wanted to support the OP's assertion that the hillbillies in AHS would "murder and rape for breakfast", because these particular ones are being stereotyped as that sort of people, at least according to Matt. Also, I didn't want it to seem like I was picking apart his entire post, because I do disagree with the whole "nurses would never murder people" aspect. So, I latched on to support something I could play around with. Didn't mean any disrespect to your family only to mine! 😉

I wonder if the locals wanted to stop the LA transplants from buying the house to keep people from being terrorized because they knew about the trouble there.

And now the sister about cried when saying they could be looking for a body. even though it was a past event so she already knows the outcome. So either it gave away what happened to her daughter or it was bad acting.
