Josh Radnor and Zach Braff seem to have cornered the market on the lonely, depressed 30-something misfit white guy that can only find happiness and self assurance in starting a relationship with the manic pixie dream girl.

I don't think her character was a MPDG, and I found his quite likeable. I can't agree more about Zach Braff, however - he has made that genre his own. The quizzical look, the carefully moussed hair, the depressed misfit - good lord! I want to punch him in his insufferable face.
Sorry, I just got burned by his films. I heard for years how great Garden State was, and I hated it. It was "Look at me, I'm Zach Braff and I can write and direct a film where I get to sleep with Natalie Portman." Then I saw Last Kiss and realized he played the same character again, and hated it as well.
