did you mean i still own it on video that you actually own a vhs copy of henry: portait of a serial killer?
I still have it on video. I taped it off cable TV back in the early '90s. I still have that video cassette though I don't know how good the quality would be now as I haven't watched it in ages.
i can not now and never will be able to and never will get rid of my old vhs tape movies and vcrs i just cant part with the most important part of my childhood old '80s movies and vcrs and vhs tapes.
Yeah, I still have a few boxes full of old VHS tapes that I bought back in the '80s and '90s. I've given some of my VHS tapes away to Goodwill over the years (movies that I know I'll never watch again) but I've held on to classics like Nosferatu, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Jaws, Dawn of the Dead (even though I own the DVD box set), The Boys Next Door, Assault on Precinct 13, Cannibal Holocaust (a bootleg copy I bought back in the early '90s when it was impossible to find the film on VHS), Nekromantik, Oasis of the Zombies, Psychorama, etc. I have lots of old punk shows from back in the day on video too (Black Flag, Misfits, GG Allin, etc).
did you know they actually make old '80s movies that are on blu ray in old vhs tape video boxes nowadays that you can buy from amazon.com? i bought one. it is the movie sheena with tanya roberts. i bought this movie only bc i read she shows a lot of nudity in this fine movie. ever watch this movie?
I've heard of it but never seen it.
yeah a career defining role for rooker, that is for sure. and you wonder of all the actors he's worked with since he made this film like tom cruise in days of thunder or mira sorvino in the replacement killers, did all of them think mostly of his performance in this film and this film when they thought about him while working with him?
No idea if they even saw the film. Henry was somewhat of an underground film when it first came out. I remember it playing at Coolidge Corner, an art theater in Brookline, MA (right outside of Boston), in the early '90s but it never played at any of the big mainstream theaters. Most people have probably never heard of it.
so is henry: portait of a serial killer one of the best films you've ever watched? in your top 20 best films list?
It's an excellent film but very disturbing. It's not in my Top 20. I had a big interest in serial killers and mass murderers when I was younger. I used to read lots of books about true crime and people like Ed Gein, Green River Killer, Zodiac, Jack the Ripper, etc. so the movie was a "must see" for me. My tastes have changed a bit since then though. I find serial killers like Henry Lee Lucas, David Berkowitz, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc to be sad, lonely and pathetic people who did horrendous things. Quite frankly, the subject matter depresses me now. I feel some sympathy for those guys though because life handed them a bad deck of cards. Killing became their only recourse in a world that rejected them.
oh really bc i thought you said blood feast you just like? so i though you'd give it only 3 stars. so you do love it? how many stars do you give 2000 maniacs(1966)?
I recognize Blood Feast as a classic and I like it a lot so I'd give it 4 stars. It's my second favorite Lewis film.
I'd give Two Thousand Maniacs 4 stars, too. I just love the film's story, setting and outrageous characters.

yes! you love nekromantik? this is one of those forbidden video nasty type films from the '80s like faces of death and traces of death the august underground and guinea pig movies.
i cant believe they actually made a movie about people who have sex with dead people in a horror movie way? so weird and disturbing and idea to put in a movie. this has to be the most controversial movie ever made. also it's a german film so you know it makes sense that they made such an weird edgy racy film.
hey i just spent awhile on you tube the other day watching henry rollins do some spoken word shows, parts of them anyway and he's very interesting and entertaining to listen to in these shows. i bet you would like to listen to or watch these on you tube. have you ever watched one of these shows?

The movie is OK but what I really loved about that film is the background music. Great soundtrack! I don't know who composed the score but it's very memorable and haunting music.

I've watched some clips of his more recent spoken word shows on youtube. They're usually entertaining. I also own a couple of his early spoken word albums from the '80s. I listened to them a lot back in the day. Henry has always been an intelligent and thought-provoking guy even if I don't always agree with him.
oh wow one of my favorite people of all time conan o'brien grew up in brookline, mass. are you a fan of his from his talks shows?
I knew he was from around these parts but, no, I'm not a fan. I've never even watched his show.

The latter. They never gave themselves a chance and ended up ruining their own lives (and their victims' lives in the process).
what serial killer is manhunter, hannibal, and the silence of the lambs based on?
I've heard that Buffalo Bill is based on Ed Gein. Not sure who Hannibal Lecter is based on though.

i just discovered betty boop on this show. there are things that are really magical about her. she is completely original and unique. ive never come across a character in a movie or tv show, live aciton or cartoon, who is like her at all.
she has a distinctive voice and way of acting with her body. everytime she talks it seems like her voice is separated from her body, its very weird and uncomfortable feeling but in a good way. she is beyond cute and my dream girl bc of her very unconventional way of acting and looking at things and bc of her quirky off kilter, odd facial expressions.
she is intriguing to me. its a very differenet feeling watching and listening to her in her shorts. similar to the sensations i get from reading a book or when i am about to fall asleep so i am halfway between being concsious and unconscious so subconscious or the feeling of dreaming.
do you love betty boop in her cartoon shorts from teh 1930s?

Rollins is basically a liberal Democrat. So, no, I don't agree with his political leanings. But, yeah, Black Flag is one of my favorite bands. Rollins was just the singer. Most of the band's songs were written by the guitarist/founder Greg Ginn.

I'm not Republican or Democrat though I do think the GOP is "the lesser of two evils" at the moment. Dems lost me with critical race theory and their coddling of illegal immigrants. Libertarian? On some issues I'm a libertarian (free speech, drug legalization, foreign policy) but I don't believe in shrinking government down to nothing and eliminating the social safety net like libertarians want to do. I voted for Bernie Sanders twice because I believe in universal healthcare which might make me a "socialist" in some people's eyes.
Incidentally, I agree with Mr. Nugent on the Second Amendment, he's great on that one issue, but I disagree with him on foreign policy (he's way too much of a warmonger).

huh so then are you a conservative? or a republican? or a libertarian? so is his politics the reason why you dont agree with him oftentimes or sometimes?
so then do you more agree with ted nugent's politics than rollins since nugent has always been a pro gun rights guy which goes along with republican views and values?
I'm not Republican or Democrat though I do think the GOP is "the lesser of two evils" at the moment. Dems lost me with critical race theory and their coddling of illegal immigrants. Libertarian? On some issues I'm a libertarian (free speech, drug legalization, foreign policy) but I don't believe in shrinking government down to nothing and eliminating the social safety net like libertarians want to do. I voted for Bernie Sanders twice because I believe in universal healthcare which might make me a "socialist" in some people's eyes.
Incidentally, I agree with Mr. Nugent on the Second Amendment, he's great on that one issue, but I disagree with him on foreign policy (he's way too much of a warmonger).
so would you watch wb cartoon nowadays?
                  Maybe.
so did you connect with, relate to and appreciate all the things i said about betty boop as far as her being a very special and completely unique and original character?
do you love her as a cartoon character?
                  Not really and no.
i always saw cyndi lauper when she talks as like a new york cartoon character or a '30s or '40s gangster movie girl character. and it so weird how even today in those annoying drug commercials she still sounds the same annoying way when she talks.
she still has the same ultra annoying and obnoxious, caricature sounding voice. tis weird bc its exaggerated so much there is no way that is her real voice. enough already stop faking your voice its not the '80s anymore lol
I don't know, maybe that's her real voice.

they have made it so where people cant vote democrat anymore. they have lost the party. many refuse to vote democrat now bc of this.
i mean even bernie sanders is not as progressive as aoc and biden and kamala.

I guess it's a matter of how you define "progressive". Bernie is more progressive, i.e., "left", on economics, foreign policy and healthcare than any of them. Biden is a tool of Wall St and Capitalism. He's an establishment Democrat like Bill and Hillary. He's only "progressive" on social justice issues like BLM and gay rights but he doesn't give a **** about ending wars or giving everyone healthcare or raising the minimum wage. Harris is an opportunist. Her positions changed from mild left to solid centrist over the course of three primary debates (!!) in 2019. I don't believe she has any actual convictions or beliefs other than the naked pursuit of power. AOC started out as pretty progressive (like Bernie) but lately she's been going along with the establishment wing of the party on important votes (such as sending more military aid to Ukraine).
I don't believe that any of them are Marxists or genuine socialists, for example, Biden wants to overthrow a socialist government in Venezuela, if he was a socialist or genuine leftist he wouldn't want to do that.

you do realize that biden is not a real person now as president? what i mean is he is controlled like a puppet by all the people in his cabinet and basically the white house is run by barack obama now bc he is pulling biden's strings.
every move he makes is micromanaged and carefully considered and done only their way. this is why when he speaks he is so out of it bc he has to constantly turn to his cue cards and has to remember what lie he is being programmed to say in every interview, he has no thoughts no feelings about anything bc is not allowed to have any thoughts or feelings about anything so he is basically a robot.
also he's always been a failure at every stage of his political career even obama who ran with him said never underestimate the ability biden has to screw something up.
oh and he's an outspoken racist. saying one time he refuses to send his kids to school with black people, referred to them as urban jungles. great guy huh?

The people who pull Biden's strings are the same people who pulled Bush's and Obama's strings: the oligarchs, the corporations, Wall St, Big Pharma, the military-industrial complex and the Jewish lobby.
Trump was a little bit more independent and his own man but still beholden to
                        his
wealthy donors (like casino magnate and Israel firster Sheldon Adelson) and, to top it off, Trump had horrible advisors like neocon Mike Pompeo, warmonger Nikki Haley and Zionist Jared Kushner. Trump had some good intentions but he took a lot of bad advice.

Yeah the movie was horrible. I liked the cinematography but that was it. Plus the woke garbage that Catwoman was spewing made the movie all the more worse. I also didn't like how Riddler or the Penguin looked. The Nolan Batman movies did a better job portraying Batman and the villains in a more realistic light. But Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns will always be my favorites.
