You had already had the premise of "American Gods" explained to you perfectly well, and you effectively came back with how America only has a Christian God. So I actually thought you were one of the God bothering trolls who was going to start declaiming how there's only one God, and that anything else is blasphemy etc etc (boring) etc. Apologies if I read it wrong and you weren't going that way, but really what followed was no clearer than what you'd already been told. And I would also recommend the book as well worth the read. Neil Gaiman's stories are wonderfully imaginative!

Ugh, I can't wait until we get those types of posters on this Board. It's going to be so much
fun.
And I say this as a practicing Catholic.

You do realize that America has hundreds of religions.
And to answer your questions:- The old gods are from ancient pagan religions like Norse, Greek, Egyptian, Hindu, Native American, ETC.
- The "New gods" represent things like technology, money, travel, things we worship now.
You could have just as easily googled it.
Never Drumpf! Never Hillary!

Every culture. You've got Norse gods, Indian gods, Egyptian gods,Celtic gods, gods of media and technology, djinn, etc.
America isn't just one culture, it's a mix of many different cultures. The premise of the book is that the new gods want to take over from the old.

The idea behind the book is that people came to America and worshipped their gods from where they came from. Eventually they stopped doing this and started to worship other things, media, slot machines and technology. This "worship" created new gods, the old gods want the get rid of the new gods so people will worship them again. This idea of gods needing worship to survive or have power is used by other writers as well. The idea that worshiping your tv by sitting in front of it would create a god is something original to Gaiman as far as I know.
I will admit as well, the trailer did not really tell you what the show is about. -

With Spoilers?
When people emigrated to America they bought their old pagan gods and folk heroes with them. Odin, Loki, Horus etc Gods only have power when people believe in them. So when people stopped believing in them the gods had to resort to living as drifters, prostitutes and confidence tricksters.
Then along come new Gods The god of Television, The Internet, Automobiles etc
There is a civil war between old Gods and New.
Its epic. -

3 negative-ish observations :
- Too much slooooooomoooooooooooo. I hope it's used sparingly in the show.
- I hope the trailer is not indicative of the type of music they will be using in the show.
- I'm having a hard time accepting this Shadow.
3 positive observations: - Mr. Wednesday, even though he looks nothing like I imagined him, is perfect. PERFECT!
- Zorya Vechernyaya is perfect as wellbut I knew this from the moment it was revealed who was playing her.
- Mr. Wednesday is perfect.
Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.

Well if it's anything like Hannibal, which had the same show runner, then you can expect a healthy dose of slo-mo. Then again if it is anything like Hannibal it should be used in pretty interesting ways and not just used for every fight scene.

I'll probably wait until after the show, Rangu. I'm hooked on Fuller after Hannibal and want to see what he does with it without any preconceived ideas of how it should be, if you know what I mean. My shows are dwindling (Hannibal is done unless it comes back in several years, my favourite character/actor in another show got snuffed the other night (the character, not the actor), my other show has it's final season next year and I cant get into one my husband is currently watching) so I'm really excited for another quality production.

Your show meaning Hannibal? Yeah I miss it but I loved the finale and thought it wrapped up perfectly if it never gets picked up again.
I'm grieving for my favourite character in my current show. Usually I dont mind if my favourites get knocked off but this one really grinds my gears. Random OT comment - the actor concerned has worked with Mads in a movie.
