You wouldn't give a child away for biting
    You would, though.

This show is sensationalised and shows the worst of the worst.
One of my cats will sometimes play bite - but not as bad as my puppy.
I used to hate cats until a kitten showed up on my doorstop one day. I think sometimes we're influenced by our parents on which animals we like, that and early experiences good or bad. My Father hated cats and I kind of took that on - saw them as feminine and selfish/unpredictable.
They're actually pretty awesome if you give them a chance. The vast majority of them are good natured if you know how to treat them. This coming from someone who couldn't stand cats for most his life.

If you had a child who bit you or was disobedient, would you drop him off at an orphanage? Cats (and dogs) are family members.

You don't get to use the child comparison, because you and others like you place no value on children.
If you did, you wouldn't let animals attack them.

Yes. But I wouldn't do that with a cat.

Because it is hard to re-home a pet than it is to adopt one? You are basically stuck with that pet.

Cat lovers are the types who love their abusers. They will just chase after them harder for their approval.
