Rehome the child, not the cat!

I'm watching tonight's episode with one of the Real Housewives and the cat they call a "demon"Shadow. It is clearly a parenting issue, not a cat issue. Those idiot parents are totally clueless and can't seem to understand why their cat is no mean. They then stand there and watch amused while their five year old daughter swings around and squeezes their more docile cat Sophie and kicks at Shadow. She has obviously terrified and hurt that cat in the past, which is why she is so aggressive. Why would the parents allow that to happen? Some people don't deserve to have pets.

Those parents were horrendous. The worst part was when the kid was abusing the cats, directly contradicting Jackson's instructionsand the parents just sat there and filmed it.

I was sick to my stomach watching that brat abusing those poor cats. She deserved every scratch and bite.
I had cats before my son and once he was old enough to understand, it was easy to show him how to be nice to the kitties, and he was always gentle with them and loves animals and was always great at taking care of all the pets we have had.
How could the parents miss what the kid was doing?
They probably take them to a nice restaurant and think it cute when the run around and disturb everyone. -

On a previous show, a woman's cat was aggressive toward the family including her son of 5 years. The woman let the cat have the run of the boy's room and it lived under his bed from which position it would attack him with bites and scratches. The boy was clearly frightened of the cat and couldn't be comfortable in his own bedroom.
This was a nice kid who was in no way abusing the cat.
What do you think about this situation? Should we rehome the cat or the kid?
Should the parents be arrested for neglect? -

i don't want to offend anyone, nor do i want to make it seem like i'm picking on a 5 year old girl, but damn she was a retard! even at 5 years old, kids know not to swing your cat upside down! if that were my cat, i'd take it away from her and never let her touch it until she learns how to treat it properly
the parents were just so stupid to let her do that. why did they never teach their children to be nice to their pets? -

I have so much respect for Jackson. He is probably the only person to ever tell that family the truth. And he protected poor Sophie when the child wanted to terrify the sweet thing in the class at school. Jackson is doing a lot to help pets and families. Wonderful job.

I was talking with someone at the vet the other day who said they had a young child who used to hold their cat so tightly the poor thing's eyes would bulge. Apparently, they thought this was cuteuntil the day they found the kid asleep with the poor cat stone-cold dead in her arms. She'd throttled it to death. I was horrified, especially since I was holding a cat in my arms at the time, bringing him in for a routine rabies shot.
When pet experts say that small children and animals need to be supervised, they don't always mean that the child is the one most at risk.

I saw this episode recently and what really struck is how initially the focus was on the kid and "How you can stop a 5 year old from doing this". Uh easy you parent. Kids who are given rules and instructed can easily be corrected of this. The ones who needed correction were those clueless parents.
Right there with you on this one. Jackson may well have been the first person to set some boundaries with that braaa..child.
