Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — My Cat from Hell

Obviously you don't have any actual children for you to defend the cats like that and attack the owners.
A cat gets away with more misbehavior than any other animal in a home is allowed from what I can see.
Most of the stupid people on this show don't show enough emotion over the fact that their cat has attacked someone or their own childif a dog bit someone it's hardly debatable and no one arguesbut because a cat attack is never going to become fatal in most cases it's "just something to work on"?
If my cat attacked someone let alone my own kid, it's being put down without questionand if you don't take that action then YOU have no business owning any animal or should cut yourself off from all human interactionyou cat people need to wake upthey are pets that are lucky enough to live under our roofs and get free mealsend of story.
The stupid have one thing in common. They alter the facts to fit their views not the other way

I agree. If they're not put down, they pollute the gene pool when they have kittens of their own. They tend to pass their unsocial dispositions on to their offspring. After many years of this the bad qualities spread to the entire population of domestic cats. This is science.
This is why they should be put down, not because anyone enjoys doing it.
It's tragic when pets in shelters are put down merely because they have been abandoned. But may be a necessity if they are mean and wild and can't live among humans without harming humans.
What's the alternative? Send them to a prison for pets? Who wants to volunteer to be the warden? Who's going to pay for all that? I don't want my tax dollars going to that. I'd rather it go to a worthy environmental cause - there are so many.

        1. That's not how science or animals work.
        2. Most cats or dogs taken from a shelter will be spayed and or neutered.

I think it depends. No animal is ever just mean for the sake of being mean. There are usually underlying causes for an animal to be "mean." So, if a normally even tempered cat or dog starts acting up and acting people that's usually indicative of a problem that can be solved.

Yeah, it is. There is a science behind everything, like it or not. Most pet owners are blissfully ignorant of it. If you have a specific problem with my science, show me where it is, and we can discuss it.
            2. Most cats or dogs taken from a shelter will be spayed and or neutered.
So? They still have to be supported if no owner can bear them, and that takes money for food, shelter, attendants.
So, if a normally even tempered cat or dog starts acting up and acting people that's usually indicative of a problem that can be solved.
If a normally agreeable animal has a change in personality I agree it could be due to the onset of a problem. I don't agree that the problem is always solvable.
And what about animals that are disagreeable from the start? Their disposition is not due to any one problem, it's just what they are. What about them? They exist.

No such things as an evil cat. Humans are evil
Baloney, innocent. Animals practice all kinds of cruelty. Open your eyes. Animals just do what they have to do to survive, without a second thought. They are neither good nor evil nor innocent. At least humans have second thoughts about their actions and can feel guilt and regret.
And yes, I know you and your kind hate people. That's already been established. Thank you for admitting it, I'll give you credit for that.

They all deserve homes. Evil / good is a human standard. Leave them alone.
