Republicans used that fight over the election for Speaker to win a bunch of concessions from their leaders. Progressives could have done that in 2020 with Pelosi but they capitulated and got nothing. Katie Porter got less than nothing, she got kicked off the Financial Services Committee. Maybe she should pay a little more attention to what those Republicans were doing.
