Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — My Cat from Hell

    sexandthechitty — 10 years ago(April 15, 2015 01:06 AM)

I'm sorry for posting this here, but I'm pretty desperate to post anywhere I can at this point.
A stray cat basically became part of my family, her name is Big Girl. She is the sweetest thing alive. Ive been taking her to the vet for month &, trying different meds.Oh,my the vet bills on a unexpected addition to the family is a nice surprise. But Im not going to abandon her like her last owner did. Big Girl cruised around the time my Mom passed away, & she was a little angel. It was perfect. I didnt want to see human beings. I was sick of them all, just sad over my Mom. She always cuddled up at all the right times as if she knew I needed it. So no, I will not give up on her. She has chronic upper resp infections but there is something more going on.The vet also said she will need teeth extracted because of infections and that it would cost $800-$2000 I ALMOST FAINTED.
But right now thats not a priority, Right now the only way she is going to be diagnosed & treated properly is by running a battery of tests on her. The cost of it all is out of my league & Im so fearful she will take a turn for the worst & it will be all my fault I waited. So I decided to put my pride aside and start a GoFundMe page, to at least TRY. All of her/our info/story along with pic is on Big Girls GoFundMe page link below. I really dont expect alot of people to donate, and even if you cant, if you could find a way to SHARE the go fund me page on your Facebook or anywhere to get it out in the world I would be overjoyed. I see tons of people on Go Fund on the main page just RAKING IN THE DOLLARS thousands of dollars and for things like "help me take a vacation" and things that really seem out of place or not as urgent. But hey more power to them I guess. I am not one of those people. I dont have tons of people I can pass this around too other than immediate friends and some family, so if you can share this with anyone, Id appreciate it so much. even if a few people donate a couple of dollars, hey more people that do that.Dollars add up! THANK YOU!!!!

Have you tried looking into local animal charities that help foot vet bills? You should be able to find at least some of them on Facebook.

How about trying to find a vet that would allow you to pay in installments? I think some offers something like that. Would it help? Generally speaking, I think it's important to get health insurance for your pet. They can help with certain fees.
My cat had to have teeth extracted, 3-4 and it cost me 2000 dollars. That was about 4-5 yrs ago.

Aw, that picture after she sneezed was pretty sad. Lovely cat though. I hope you reach your goal.
