Annalynne McCord was fantastic in this. And Traci Lords was great as well. Thank goodness for Online movie awards. Hopefully it can get some attention there. It's really deserving.

Wow, wait. An armchair critic on imdb who mistakes his opinion for fact? Now that's something you don't see everyday
I would agree that the performances weren't Oscar worthy just by the content which doesn't conform to "oscar" standards, but they were damn good performances. And yeah she did porn in the 80's, so friggin what? It means absolutely nothing, She did a phenomenal job in this playing the Mom.
The way she contradicted herself by being a total bitch one moment then being fully caring in the next is something that is a genuine motherly quality and its definitely something we don't see everyday. She came off as a real mother in this..though a bit crazy and too religious at times. -

Seems both of you have some sort of blindsight due to Traci Lord's background. While I wouldn't go so far as to say Oscar-worthy, I've seen far-worse from professional actors (though of course the script and director probably share fault).

Lords was fine. Not much range here, but she was more than serviceable. McCord on the other hand was juggling tics, facial expressions and acting with a capital A. A terrible 'look at me acting' performance, made even more cartoonish from her over the top zit make-up. This is the kind of character that needs a strong director to modulate the performance and reign it in to be effective. The film is fine to look at. It's shot in a very classy way slow, well composed moves which makes McCord's performance at even more right angles to the film. Everyone downplays their role and the look of the film is very grounded and then here's this ridiculous actress who couldn't have played her role any more broad. Oscar? Razzie.

I agree SO much! They did better than a lot of Oscar winners actually!
The best performances in horrors always get snubbed though
Same for Scout Taylor Compton (RZH2), Danielle Harris (RZH2), and Shawnee Smith (Saw 3)
