I wouldn't say the ending was funny, but more ironic. She sought her mother's approval so much, that she unintentionally sacrificed the approved daughter to win her mother

Yeah, that was really funny when two young girls died. I was in stitchesjust like the dead girls. See? That's funny.

Oh, lighten up, geesh. If one were to take this flick at face value, it would be a really badly-acted, poorly-written forgettable embarrassment. I want to believe the film makers were NOT serious, making it a black comedy and not a gratuitous piece of schlock.
          Nice pun, BTW.

I didn't see it so much as "horror" but I didn't see it as "black comedy" either. I suppose the gore warranted listing it as "horror" but if you removed those scenes it would simply be a drama imo. I really didn't see enough humor in it to call it a "black comedy". Fargo was "black comedy". Very Bad Things was "black comedy. This one, Excision, I really don't think so. It was just too, too tragic. If the director/writer deems it "black comedy" then I stand corrected but then that makes him a sick fv

It was a 'Horamady' (horror, drama, comedy)
