Just the skin color
No. A hell of a lot MORE than skin color.
Did some slaves suffer brutality? Yes but this was NOT the norm. A slave was an expensive investment. Most slaves were treated in a relatively decent manner under the circumstances. People were not out and out working them to death, starving or systematically exterminating them. Death rates among the slaves were only 0.6 percent higher than among southern whites. It is apples to oranges and barely that. More like apples to jackboots. To think the two are remotely comparable is shear ignorance.

I support reparations so long as the money to pay for it ONLY comes from the pockets of Democrats. They're the party responsible for slavery, they're the ones constantly pushing this stupid idea, they can pay for it.
Or, ya know, we recognize that nobody alive today was a slave nor held slaves, and that history is full of dark moments, and you learn and move on from them. In CA they're retardedly trying to give out $230K per person for reparations. And once it shows that it literally solved nothing, the left will just ask for more. This isn't about righting any wrongs, this is all political strategy.
