it's just sick. and it can influence disturbed people to do the same stuff that happens in this movie.

Seems logic wins again. Good riddance to the original poster. He was annoying as all hell, and there are PLENTY of films worse then this, even if most are Indie. I mean, damn.. What about 'Fetus'?

wow what planet r u from? seriously? im disturbed, not just by your offensive ignorance of mental health but seriously i am medically disturbed and i can tell u as the other guy said, it doesnt work like that. Your comment, on this board is almost a pr, marketing shill ploy in that people will see what u have written and now see it where otherwise they might not have. A bit like those terrible film trailers where they have teens saying junk like, 'it was so scary i had to leave!' or ' this film should be banned its sick and will make u have sex!!! = evil!'.
If you are not a plant by the promoters then think about what u say and where u say it and how before u do as lack of thought often has an undesired result. -

August Underground, 'ADULT' and 'SENSITIVE' portrayal???!!!!!!!!!!
Really. Have you ever seen the movie? And if you did, where you paying attention to the subtext -or lack of it? Do you have a clear recollection of it?
'Adult' OK, maybe, I'll concede, it depends on your take on the term. 'Sensitive'? Please, for culture's sake, let's make a proper use of vocabulary. There's absolutely nothing sensitive about that movie. Does it deal with sensible matters? Maybe, it can be argued. It IS a sensitive portrayal of something, anything? Hell no, no way, no arguing there. Look the term up.
Also, it's unfair to compare Excision to August Underground. It's like comparing A.I. with Transformers because both movies are science-fiction pieces and them both have robots as main characters. I would rather compare Excision to Teeth, Dead Girl or even We Need To Talk About Kevin. Yes, all of those are genre films, and all of them have teenagers as prominent characters, but, in all cases, any shock value the film is imbued with is projected as a means to an end, -narratively speaking- and is not meant as an end by itself. -

Why can't people accept that people are responsible for their own actions.
Disturbed people are disturbed. I remember people complaining when a teen used John Stape in Coronation street as a basis for killing his mother but the problem was he was disturbed before this just people like to deny it. -

There is help out there. There are two important questions to ask yourself:
(1) Why should we not get the entertainment we want/deserve because of others - Basically disturbed people are disturbed. If they do something after watching a film, they probably planned to do this anyways without realising and would have done it regardless of the film.
(2) Where do you draw the line - People can intimidate anything if they really wanted to. I mentioned something that happened in a soap of all things, never mind a horror. By going with some people's logic we should remove all violence from everything - literature, film, games, imagery.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying be violent for the sake of it and I hate over the top violent films but sometimes violence is needed to tell a story. If Films and TV was all happy it would just be boring in my opinion. -

exactly. I think IMDB should use some type of quick quiz about the movie.Like a CAPTCHA for ratings. This would help with the problem of people watching the trailer than giving it a (1) because "looks dumb". or people who don't pay attention, than complain about the plot.
