The anticipated sequel has been delayed once again, this time pushing out the Robert Pattinson-led film to 2027.
On the social media platform Threads, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn was directly asked about the movie's latest delay. Gunn confirmed that the news was true, but despite some speculation, it wasn't because of scheduling conflicts. The screenplay for The Batman Part II is simply not in shooting shape just yet, and with more time needed to get it finished, the choice was made to give the film another delay. As Gunn explained, it's better to make sure the script is the very best it can possibly be rather than rushing it into production in order to make a deadline.
"Sure. Yes, it is true," Gunn said. "The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already). Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films." -

The first one was dreck and just shouldn't have happened. I can appreciate the MCU movies on some level because they're basic popcorn entertainment for retards - this was just instantly forgettable trash.
The Penguin was pretty good though.
