Considering Spock remains 100% calm and rational even in the face of extreme danger, and doesn’t appear to exhibit fear, it would seem Betelgeuse’s scare tactics would have little to no effect on him.

Beetlejuice is never alive to begin with, he is a demon that is summoned by invoking the Beetlejuice effect, and subsequently he is banished back to the netherworld by saying the same phrase in his presence.
However, he has paranormal tricks up his to prevent people from saying his name three times. If he ever managed to marry a living person, the ritual would allow him to stay in the real world as an undead demon and spread chaos wherever he goes.

Beetlejuice exists, so it's sort of like being alive in the first place. He can never die for good, right? So then how can Spock kill him forever without him just getting summoned back?
