if you choose this ending, then Franklin becomes micheal. Micheal was a backstabbing coward and if you kill him you become that.

Right. It makes Franklin out to be a soulless monster, really. Who learned absolutely nothing from their escapades and was still trying to kiss up to Devin Weston, despite being robbed by him.
Michael even shows his true nature at one point, as he asks if Trevor was behind this and suggests he and Franklin go take him out together.
