Just because its a movie doesnt mean it cant piss someone off. The tone of the movie seemed to support the idea that these kids were the next Einstein , just because they were able to install cameras into somebodys house and stalk them.

its not white privilege but rich privilege. if i recall OJ simpson got away with murder or accessory to murder and he's not white. Kobe Bryant got away with rape and last time i checked, he's not white either. White privilege is a myth, an urban legend. Now rich privilege, that does exist. if you are rich you can get away with anything.
just because someone is white doesn't mean they will get away with everything. There's white trash and i doubt they get away with anything, you know the type that have tats all the way down their arms and wearing wife beater t-shirts drinking a miller high life 32 or 40 ounce or whatever it is, that kind of ilk. i forgot they also have shaved heads and barely enough education to even read the warning label on the 5 packs of ciggys they smoke each day, if they can even read. they also probably make crystal meth too.

this is how I see this whole privilege thing.. Its rich privilege not white privilege.. but also at the same I do understand it I mean black people are treated differently than white people in a lot of situations. I've seen it myself. Like I grew up in a big diverse city and had friends of all races and I've seen stuff for instance like shop owners following around my black friends in stores but when i was in the store alone they wouldn't follow me around. And none of my friends were ghetto thug looking dudes or anything.

Well, that's 2. Can you keep going? There are some black people who get off, but white privilege has been going on since the inception of America. It seriously exist. But I do believe rich privilege is far more of an issue than white privilege. IMO, this movie was rich privilege. -

I feel like America backfired. I am Italian when we first came here, as a people, we were hated. Then we opened some great pizza joints and restaurants and people warmed up to us.
Then there were the Irish that were considered trashy potato pickers but they like booze and great bars arrived.

YES, the black people had it the worst because of Slavery and Segregation. That is a definite and the southern white people can only blame themselves. It is appalling.
So why the hell stay here if it sucks so much? Why not move to a predominantly black country and be treated with respect? What is so damn great about coming here? First off it's not even that nice to look at. The history is too young. The architecture is minuscule. You have to search for beauty. I love NYC and San Francisco etc but there isn't enough of it. It's too expensive. Mountains here and there that are nice but again no enough.
Lastly, I would love to move to Italy. If I had the money and the time I would go. I certainly wouldn't stay here if I was treated poorly.
Why stay? It's not like the 1800's where it wasn't easy to hop on a plane and move. -

Perhaps most black people enjoy it here for the most part and hope that this country keeps changing for the better for them. Should they not keep trying to change it for the better?
I am Italian too and I agree that Italians and Irish also had periods of times when we were treated as subhuman pieces of beep I think the difference is that we can blend in with "other" white people and blacks can't. -

I am supposed watch this movie and think they are revolutionary geniuses because they are petty criminals?
I don't know how somebody can watch the movie and think that's the intended takeaway message.
The audience in the end is supposed to be upset about what was done and to share the frustration of the judge that it wasn't possible to have a more appropriate sentence given the magnitude of the crime (though as noted in another post here, there's a script problem in that the kid bringing a gun into the home probably would have made the crime a felony).
