diarrhea scene for real ?

I read somewhere that the diarrhea scene was not scripted. The actress got it (something to do with the food in south america) but Eli Roth didnt want to open the cell and he continue filming.
Do you think it's true or that he would have been sued ? -

Even that a direct should have the decency to call cut. Two factors here. One the producers would want scenes to be sanitary for everyone's health. Two everyone in the cell, cast and crew would need to work in sanitary conditions

I would almost accept that except no one breaks character (not that the characters are all that well written and it would be overly noticeable if they did, unless they made reference to the crew or the camera or something obvious).
The sheer stupidity of the scene is mind bogging. It comes out of nowhere, happens, then it's quickly forgotten.
No more reference to the smell, no one being careful around that area of the cage (or avoiding it), nothing.
It's so obviously shoehorned in because something thought it would be funny and the only ones laughing were the native kids.
