I wanted to watch a movie about aliens coming to earth

and instead I got a story about a boring woman with a boring life and boring aliens that just seemed like a backdrop to some convoluted family drama. You know people complain about Signs but at least in Signs it was actually about aliens. There's so much wrong with this movie even from the standpoint of accepting the science fiction of it in the movie universe this takes place in that makes you scratch your head. You spend more time in this film watching episodes from Louise's boring life than learning about the aliens. I wouldn't be so annoyed with this movie if they advertised it as drama about Louise's personal life but they didn't.. they advertised the heck out of this movie as some Suspenseful Alien Thriller movie.
BTW I've seen a better alien contact movie.. it was called "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". This movie is like It's a wonderful life only with Aliens
& P.S. they would have never figured out how to read and understand an alien language that sophisticated.
