I love a good "thinking person's" sci-fi movie. Movies like Contact, Interstellar, and Gattaca are among my favorite movies ever. This movie, however, was one of the most boring movies of the year in my opinion. Scenes were drawn out, conversations were so slow moving, and the story was uninteresting.

I was really surprised, how boring and dull this movie was.
The story was non sense and badly executed (somebody explain to me how, at one point, the scientists suddenly started to master the alien language). A total bomb. -

Whoopie. Yup. That was the entire 2 hours, summarized into one Cliff's note. Yeah, it was REALLY inspiring and made you think, right? Made you question stuff, right!? I'm glad you were entertained by your "cerebral sci-fi". To each their own. Personally, I found it as dull as waiting for paint to dry. I'll say this this movie is as need-to-see as
Time-Cop
or the Bambi meets Godzilla short. -

Yes it did spark meaningful conversations but they had nothing to do with relationships or time loops you ignorant imbecile. Just because you're too stupid to comprehend the main theme of the movie doesn't mean everyone else is. don't pat yourself on the back too much there, buddy. this isn't a cerebral movie, it is a movie that tries to appear cerebral to low information people. this is marketed towards people who think they're cerebral to try to validate those beliefs by watching crap that claims to be intelligent. it is for the same kind of people who find deepak chopra quotes to be deep and then can't tell the difference in his words and random gibberish generated by software.

save your time for movies with explosions and expletives.
I am not fond of explosions and I loath foul language in movies. I'm an old guy who has been watching science fiction movies since 1950, most of which I enjoy watching over and over again.
I'm sorry to tell you that this is undoubtedly one of the very worst science-fiction movies I have ever seen. Absolutely nothing to commend it whatsoever. How it got nominated for an Academy Award I'll never know. -

But, you forgot to mention Transformers. Shame on you. You are slacking off in the protocol which the pretentious-yet-inept film worshipers use when faced with negative comments. ALWAYS mention that they would be better suited to watching films like Transformers, and always say: "You just didn't get it".
Stick to the protocol you geeks agreed upon. Rules are there for a reason!
