    It just occurred to me, it's like the circle represents time on a clock face and the little splodges are events that happen on them at various times. Or is it not as simple as that?
    Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?

      It's not so literal. The circularity of the pictogram indicates, as is explicated in the film, that their language and by extension their thought has no beginning or end.
