I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but The Asylum does have an exclusive deal to produce movies with Syfy. See Sharknado, etc However there was a fake trailer made in 2010 called Ghost Shark (which is where the 'sequel' comes from)

Actually they've been making ghost shark 2 for YEARS now as an independent movie from New Zealand I believe. The joke was that there's no ghost shark 1 to speak of. However it appears asylum has heard of this and decided to ruin the joke by making a part 1.

If you came up with this, please, stop. This was terrible. Sharks are SALT WATER creatures and they would in no way be in fresh water which was what all of the water sources were. Pick up a few science fiction books and a few actual science books. All the world needs is more terrible 100% joke movies.

It's a SyFy/Asylum movie about a ghost shark that can leap up and eat someone from a bucket of water or a slip'n'slide, and you're worried about the fact the ghost is showing up in fresh water?
          Me? I aim to misbehave.

My shark in Leviathan's Ghost is a sea bound ghost that bit a diver's arm off through the cage and drags a swimmer out to sea after being bit in half. You don't see the shark but you know the ghost bit her in two; it's very gruesome so I am yelling at Asylum for stealing my concept and not googling to see if a story like this exists already.

No offense, but some large person eating sharks can indeed live quite happily in freshwater and others can tolerate it for a reasonable amount of time.

Idiotbull sharks are one of the most volatile shark species and they can live in salt water or fresh water

Your point would be more valid on saying ghosts don't exist.

The supernatural shark idea worked so much better as a novelette in 2004 within a print anthology and can be read online. I have written a new shark story playing with our urban legend of a bull shark in Lake Michigan. Ghosts exists and having a shark story set in Chicago within a framework of an urban legend works so much better than what you see with Ghost Shark. What I seen of the film and samples I don't approve of of this piece of well you know the rest.

sorry to burst your bubble, the shark thing, or any stupid mythological creature has been run into the ground and is a dead issue. Now Syfy are just purposely making crappy movies that are aware that they are crap. Don't bother writing more Shark movies, nobody wants Jaws 19 to actually happen, and no one wants to see low budget versions of it either. Write up something original that hasn't been done to death already.

Leviathan's Ghost wasn't done; I did this much better in print and played up our urban legend in Chicago with the shark story. I spoke with Ghost Shark 2's film makers and they compared notes with me about this one. Read Leviathan's Ghost because it works better in print than what you see here.

It's based upon our known urban legend. My story that is because Bull Sharks are capable of attacking in freshwater Red Water plays off the plausible nature.
                                  http://www.urbanghostsmedia.com/2014/09/viral-fear-10-creepy-internet-urban-legends/6/
read up on this and about our urban legend in Chicago about a bull shark in the Chicago waters. So you have to think about it that way how would a Bull shark end up in Lake Michigan, it could been a pet that got too big.

For everybody who's been blaming the Asylum for "ripping off" the New Zealanders who have been making "Ghost Shark 2" for the past couple of years
The Asylum had nothing to do with the production of SyFy's "Ghost Shark" movie. It certainly looks and sounds like the kind of movie they'd do, but it was actually made by Active Entertainment, a totally different studio that also supplies shlocky creature feature movies to SyFy Channel. Some of their other films include "Swamp Shark" and "Ragin' Cajun Redneck Gators," both of which were directed by G.E. "Griff" Furst, director of "Ghost Shark."
                                    Just sayin'.

I wrote the phantom shark story in 2004 within the pages of Tabloid Purposes (ISBN: 9781500524517)

maybe you should had Google'd to see if the story isn't already out there before you explored this abomination. This type of concept had been done and before was published in 2004 so The Asylum please do a Google before you explore a movie like this because I wrote the story in 2004. I cannot support or get behind any Ghost Shark related crap as The Asylum is guilty of bad research. Google to make sure something like this wasn't done already.

Are you serious? Who cares, a ghost shark is like the dumbest concept in history. And if you think any amount of research goes into any Asylum movie you're delusional, besides Asylum didn't even make this. And if you're gonna argue about who invented the concept, surely it was who ever named the Chimaera fish Ghost Shark, which it's been called since at least 1820. Chances are that nobody even knows who came up with that because it's such a simple idea that any moron on Earth could have come up with it. Are you saying that no story that has even a remote similarity to any other story should not be told? So only one story that features a ghost ship, only one that has an alien, only one where people fall in love, only one which tries to be funny, only one about investigating a murder and so on? That's ridicules.
