Was really concerned the taken kids were being trained to be jihadists or something, especially after that one dream sequence with the giant assault rifle in the sky that Thanos had. The main girl was horrible and unlikable, but other than that the movie was pretty decent, though very slow paced and hard to get into for the first hour. The payoff was worth it, I guess. The trailer created a lot of hype and interest for this movie, and it was reflected in a pretty packed theater, unusual for this type of offering.
    7/10

      Yea,
Looks like it wouldve been overhyped.
      Thanks for the review.

Apparently David Fincher helped a lot with making it, explains why it felt so professionally done, the effects were very impressive and didn’t have that low budget feel like most horrors do.

Cregger's other horror Barbarian is exactly the same.

It's the best entry in Zach Cregger's creepy old lady cinematic universe. Solid 8.5/10.
The Justine chapter starts off slow. Once it switches over to Thanos things get good.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Much like Barbarian, it cranks up the ominous tension Hitchcockian style, then perhaps gets a bit silly, verging on comedic in some scenes.
Really good though and the non-linear narrative structure works well - 8/10 for me.
