    1. who exactly were his goonies? if i recall exactly, in one of his last v-logs, he said that all but 3 of his crew were dead. is that other humanoid looking guy (he fights jayla) one of his crew members, and then the majority of his underlings are robots from the race that previously inhabited the planet?
    2. same thing with the swarm ships, whom do they belong to?
    3. what was he doing for 100/300 years? (i can't recall how long he was on the planet)
it seems like he had the tech to fvck beep up long before kirk and co got stranded there
    4. why does he look the way he does? and then, why does he revert to looking normal at the end of the movie?

Unfortunately all of those questions can be answered with the two words 'lazy writing.'

Alright, I'm gonna answer to the best of my abilitiesplease correct me if I'm wrong, everyone!

        1. His goonies were the guy who fought Jaylah and the pink-skinned girl who lured them to the planet.
        2. Umpeople he's acquired over the years, I guess? Or maybe they were the original inhabitants of the planet? I dunno, they never exactly explain it.
        3. I guess he was preparing his ambush on the Federation and gathering as much information as he could, probably mobilizing his army and stuff like that.
        4. I'm assuming that the life-prolonging technology made him look like that. And then he starts to turn back to normal the more time passes (like Mother Gothel from "Tangled" if you've seen it). Which is why when he was about to kill the Enterprise crew members in front of Uhura and Sulu he looks different than how he usually does when he's primed. And I think he was almost normal towards the end because of the time spent away from the life-prolonging tech and the fact that he'd just crash-landed so he was closer to death? But then that creates more questions because where has he been getting all this fuel (people) to make him live longer? Lol, like the last person said: lots of this can be answered with the words "bad writing".
Again, if I got anything wrong, feel free to correct me!

Wait so how many people from Franklin survived? Three total (captain Krull plus 2 others), or three crew, which means captain Krull plus 3 crew??

            It's all in the film.

            1. The pink female one who lures them in and the guy Jaylah fights.
            2. They're drones. In Edison's log he refers to them as "an advanced drone workforce" left behind by the planet's previous inhabitants.
            3. Searching for the Abronath. He needed it to decimate the Yorktown as his drone swarm couldn't be assured of victory (as evidenced by how they were rather easily defeated by the Enterprise/Franklin crew).
            4. It's suggested that he's prolonged his life by absorbing the life force of other beings. He was absorbing the life force from aliens so he looked like an alien. When he started absorbing from humans he began to look human again.

The soldiers and ships were all mining drones left by the previous owner of the planet, who disappeared long before Krall and his crew crashed there (probably have something to do with the debris-filled nebula). Their creators also had a technology that allows them to extend their life by absorbing energy from other people while also taking a bit of their DNA, which is why Krall look like that.

So the former owners of the planet left behind lots of both drones and ships? So why couldn't Krall and his crew leave if there were so many ships around?

As to those questions (none of which I could answer) & many other "
                    Huh
?!" moments most of which started popping up about 30 seconds after the movie ended: While the movie was going on I enjoyed it (except for Jayla), but as soon as it was over & my reasoning capacity kicked back in, I decided there were a whooooole buncha things that didn't make much if any sense.
OTOH, I did get to drool over Karl Urban for 2 hours, so it wasn't a total loss no matter how illogical it was or how many plot holes there were.
I figured they got caught up so totally in making an action-filled, fun movie that'd appeal to ST fans that they just ignored the glaring logic gaps & lazy writing, maybe hoping people wouldn't bother to think. Of course, to a large extent they're right about that in arenas much larger than movies.
