I liked him good. However and a big howeverI did not like how the 3 films had villains (Nero, NuKhan and Krall) who wanted revenge on the federation.

I think Idris Elba is an incredible actor, one of the more underrated ones, but I did not like the villain. No real fault of the actor, poorly written character. By far the weakest in the series which is a major reason why I enjoyed this film the least of the three.

No. Idris Elba is an amazing actor who was wasted here.

Not really. He's not that interesting and definitely isn't a screen chewer like Khan or Chang, so he's quite forgettable.

                No.
Krall had a few menacing moments; but overall he was a lame joke. The ALT-StarTrek guys needs to get their act together and come up with a REAL THREAT in the next film.
The movie has a plot hole?!?

I liked him. I saw the twist coming as soon as they showed the crashed ship though. So while I liked him, I didn't like the way Justin Lin directed mostly all of it. Way too fast and furious for me.

                    Yes, I liked him.
However I did feel he was the weakest part of the movie. A little more fleshing out of Krall and he could have been one of the top Star Trek villains, as he was he is totally serviceable, but ultimately kind of forgettable.

Idris is a solid actor but the villain was totally underwhelming.

I like Krall, some people have criticised him saying that he is the "weakest" villain in the franchise but I disagree, I actually like Krall more than Nero and think he is a more interesting villain than Nero was. Because Nero was basically just your typical vindictive villain who simply wanted revenge because Spock Prime failed to save his planet, he was very predictable and flat as a villain. But Krall on the other hand was originally a human who turned his back on humanity, he wasn't just a villain who was simply out for revenge. For a human to completely change his attitude and outlook on humanity and completely abandon and betray his own kind the way that he did, I feel he has more complexity to his character and that made him a more interesting villain to me than Nero was.

Indifferent to him did not care either way and it was a little silly at the end to make it appear he was going to save Kirk when his real intention was to destroy him & he could not even do that right!
