Jean-Marc Vallee planning to adapt another Franklin novel for the screen("On The Proper Use of Stars" by Dominique Fortier). I know that Vallee only came forward with his plans for adapting the other book as a result of the discovery of the Erebus, but it is interesting how this projectadapting Dan Simmons' novelwas announced in February 2013 and then, a year and a half later, one of the two Franklin ships is found.
