Watched this in theater last night. Had like 7 showings throughout the day, and there were probably like 30 Indians in their watching it in the theater with us. They seemed to enjoy it, but it's always hard to tell with those people. Whatever that means.
This movie was expected to be the top Hindi movie of the year, but went against Coolie with the same opening day, and is currently losing that battle, for some reason. I previewed Coolie, and it wasn't my type of movie, being a Telugu film. For my money, this was a great Indian action flick, though, like most of these movies, went on far too long at 3.5 hours. Listed with a 2 hour 53 minute runtime, so I don't knowhow it came out to be so long. There was a brief intermission, but it was no more than 5 minutes.
The movie sees the main guy from the first film return, but he's undercover as a bad guy who has betrayed RAW, whatever that is, and joined a secret worldwide cabal who seeks to control the Asian world, I guess. RAW brings in the main guy from RRR, making his Hindi cinema debut, supposedly, to track him down and stop him from doing his bad business. Lots of betrayals and revelations of who the actual bad guy is, but in the end, like all these type movies, they reconcile their differences and take out the cabal, of course. Some Indian chick is also in this, and she actually looks good. Something worth noting, since you don't see that every day.
