Sorry, thought I'd replied but obviously not!
I liked it, it's quirky. For example the main character talks to camera throughout each episode, it felt a bit odd at first but I ended up enjoying it.
It's based in Scotland and is about the Marine Homicide Unit. I believe the original stories are from the radio plays "Annika Strandhed" based in Oslo. No idea why they decided to shift it to Scotland but the character maintains her Norwegian roots.
The annoying thing is that there is no news of a S3 at the moment.

No worries!

I think I can guess why they might have done it that way. The British version of Wallander was a bit weird because it still takes place in Sweden but everyone has English accents. I never watched it save for a couple of clips and that sort of put me off a bit.
Other remakes of Scandi stuff take place in whatever country's producing the remake. So it all translates well enough. -

I watched the first episode of Wallander with Kenneth Branagh and it was very, very dark. I can handle quite dark but it was too much darkness for me! And yes the setting vs the accents was also very strange

Started this this morning albeit very briefly. It's rare seeing a show set in Scotland with polished production values like this - it's particularly nice seeing Edinburgh.
The Scottish accents are predictably OTT but it has Mark Bonnar (he's in every half decent Brit show eh?) so I'll definitely give it a proper go

The originals is a 2013 homoerotic vampire show right?

Asshole IRL or this character?

I think this is actually better than the Danish movie about Department Q's first case. I haven't read the books but it makes sense to me that the story would be more faithfully adapted as a series than a movie.
