Asshole IRL or this character?
I think this is actually better than the Danish movie about Department Q's first case. I haven't read the books but it makes sense to me that the story would be more faithfully adapted as a series than a movie.

i just finished it. really enjoyed it
for any fans of True Detective or even Mindhunter, this show scratches a similar itch. great finale

Neither am I. Just a fan of Anya Taylor-Joy It's a very compelling drama even if the chess aspect goes over your head. A friend did try to explain some of it to me, but I wasn't really paying attention lol

I managed to get an actual DVD of The Queen's Gambit. It's a "For your consideration" DVD produced for Emmy voters. It was a great mini-series.

I was a few years late in finally watching it. When it came out initially, I thought I wouldn't like it because of the chess aspect, but then I realized it starred Anya Taylor-Joy, who I'd loved in Robert Eggers' films and Furiosa.

I think she looked great as a red head. Not loving the long platinum look though. She's very unique looking with her large doe eyes. I've actually only seen her act in The Queen's Gambit.

If you're into horror movies at all,
The Witch
is a must-watch. It was my first introduction to her.
