Big win for the Hos!
But seriously, now I'll have to watch it since I've seen every other Best Picture winner.

I saw it this past Sunday only because it won Best Picture and I needed to see why.
I liked the movie, though I think Conclave would have been a much better choice. That film had a shocking ending and the whole process of how the Vatican votes for a Pope is very interesting.
I loved the opening music of Anora. That got me hooked.

I think the twist in Conclave would have been more effective if they had updated the twist with the new pope being transgender.
As it stands, the cardinal being intersex isn't a big issue. He had always assumed he was a man, and lived a man, and didn't even find out he had female chromosomes until his 30s. No Christian could argue he committed any sin here. It's a medical issue he didn't even know about until after he became a priest.
Now if her were trans, and he had gone to that "clinic in Geneva" to undergo HRT, that would've caused a stir.

In fact that's one of the things I was thinking.
First I started to suspect that the man was gay. Then I suspected it was going to be a trans thing.
But there you have it. It was still an unexpected ending to an excellent acted and well written story, very worthy of a Best Picture Academy Award.
