The thing with Gibson movies is they are much more graphic and real than any CBM, and given the subject matter so they should be. I can also see where he is coming from with his you give a $hit about the characters or at least more for them. I don't know about you but I can not really relate to a man who can get hit by a nuclear missile and be perfectly ok and most CBM character don't really have much depth. On the other hand at least with Gibson latest movie features a story about a real person and I can relate to real people much more than I ever will to something that started life as a drawing.
So yes I do believe that he is a very solid director and he is right in what he says here about Marvel and he was right when he said that BvS was $hit.

What DC Zealots will never understand is that the Marvel fans can take critic of their films we understand that not everything is perfect and so does Marvel and that is why you see improvement in the movies.
So it seems the Marvel fans accepted what Gibson said do you recall all the crap that the DC Zealots threw in the air when said BvS was $hit? God that was funny they all threw their dummies out of the pram and were talking complete $hit about Gibson not understanding movies or knowing nothing about them LMFAO yet his latest movie has a critical rating way higher than both this years DCEU movies combined and an audience rating of 96% also miles above the audience rating for any DCEU movie.

Keep in mind, he still called BvS a piece of beep But also, it's not so much Mel is really criticizing Marvel films as a whole, he's just dishing out on one aspect of the films that he actually has a point on. But in defense of Marvel, they are generated towards younger audience including kids, so there's only so much you can show with the blood. But also, RDJ did offer Mel to direct an Iron Man movie
