Despite a few dollar signs, the critical reception to both Suicide Squad AND BvS was pitiful, and even the most loyal fans had difficulty mustering up enthusiasm for the movies that painted even DC's big guns as silly and poorly written caricatures to be mocked and laughed at.
Since Man of Steel the DCEU has been floundering and it's continued to miss the mark for not just one, not two, but all three films thus far.
TRUE fans have been begging for a change, critics have been laughing about it, and now, Jeff Bewkes, the chief-CEO of Time Warner, the parent company of Warner Brothers, has come out and said the words that we've all been saying the DCEU is a mess and improvements need to happen. During an investor meeting Q&A, he basically acknowledged that the DCEU SUCKS. He didn't say those exact words but he had to be truthful and admit how all three movies have dropped the ball. After all, he wants money from the guys he was talking to and those guys aren't stupid.
So, anyone here that wants to keep defending this DCEU garbage think about this for a moment. Even those at the top acknowledge the movies have been bad but they vow to make them better. Get on that train and quit fooling yourselves. Bury these awful film and hope that they do more in the future then just make the stupidity we've seen "lighter and funnier." If they think that's the only problem here than we're all still screwed. -

The true fans know this and embrace it sadly a group of fan boys here just wont except the truth. These will be the same fanboys that will quickly turn on the movie they defend vehemently as soon as a new cut comes out. Still I do hope to see a huge improvement in the DCEU and finally maybe we can start to get some good movies out of it.

Well I would be lying to say I wouldn't laugh if Disney did this with Episode 8 and the WB changed the date again.
But yeah, it would be stupid to move it like that, while some competition is fine, doing that would be bad business.

If Disney moved dates then Justice League would just move to counter it. We saw how DC bowed out when it realised that BvS was going to have the same release date as Civil War. I do think that Justice League will have great marketing behind it, as marketing is something that WB is really good at, sadly they are much better at marketing than they are at producing a constant stream of good movies.

Lies. He said that they will have more lightness and could be improved. He didn't say anywhere that they were awful. Most audiences liked BVS. The DCEU is doing just fine in terms of financial and audience success. Stop spreading lies.

You're retarded. Most audiences were gravely disappointed with BvS.
Why the fk do you think it had a 69% drop off follow up weekend with NO competition? Lol
It had historic box office drop offs and hardly anyone I know really liked it. Who woulda thought that Deadpool would beat it domestically? -

I find it interesting that when BvS did really big numbers WW its opening weekend, some people would say, "But hey, it's opening all around the world at the same time, so that doesn't count." But then when it has a bigger drop off the following weekend, some people conveniently ignore the same effect, that the release wasn't staggered, and therefore it would make sense that it would have a larger drop off.

It had the freakshow appeal of Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman all on-screen for the first time in history. It was always gonna do well opening weekend.
If you can't defend a movie without bashing another, you will be put on ignore. No exceptions. -

Lets not forget months of advance sales.
